Question for the newlyweds?

Did you wear your veil to the reception? Did you wear it through the reception? If so, what did you think?
Thanks girls

Re: Question for the newlyweds?

No, I took it off right after the ceremony was over.

For me - the veil was an added effect for the solemness of the ceremony. There is no way I would have been comfortable with it on the whole night even if I got a smaller one for that reason.

Re: Question for the newlyweds?

I did. My veil was attached to my headpiece. I wanted to keep it on because I dont like the look of a bride without a veil. JMO
I also didnt have a very long veil.

I wore it the entire time. I had the option to take it off- but I liked it.

Re: Question for the newlyweds?

Let me start by saying that I am in a bad mood today, so I apologize if this is harsh. However, is this post really necessary here on the NWB? I believe that many NWs have asked that wedding related questions be posted on BHB, since many NWs still visit there. Many people here posted that they never even visited the NW board until after they were married. But now, the brides are using this site as their second source of information. Please respect our wishes, Brides, and post wedding related posts on BHB.

PS. I wore mine all night; it just added to the effect and magic of the day.

Re: Question for the newlyweds?

Really sorry to be so annoying and, to be honest, I hesitated for precisely this reason and if you check...since the newlyweds requested we not post on their board I usually only post such questions on the BHB board. BUT let me explain...
I am in a hurry to answer this question because i have to order my veil by 10AM...if i am going to wear it the whole time I will get a shorter veil as well as the longer one I am ordering...
I honestly had NO IDEA what is typically done...the saleswoman insisted most people wear it throughout the reception but i was worried she just wanted me to spend more money.

I posted on the BHB board first but I only got one response...and if you look...i posted on here about 20 minutes later and immediately got 5 responses.

So anyway, I AM SORRY IF I AM ANNOYING EVERYONE... Just let this thread die out

Re: Question for the newlyweds?

I wore a fingertip layer all night and didn't bother me at all. I removed my cathedral layer after first dance.

Re: Question for the newlyweds?

I wore a fingertip veil to the ceremony and through the begining of my reception, then took it off (actually, I think it fell off when someone hugged me) before dinner - but I intended to take it off anyway.

Hope this helps.

PS - Don't get stressed by the comments regarding your post. We're always happy to help - especially in an 'emergency'

Re: Question for the newlyweds?

I honestly do not mind answering the question:
I wore a Cathedral length for photos and pre-ceremony stuff and then a fingertip/elbow 2-layer for the ceremony and reception. I figured, there are 2 times in my life that I can wear a headpiece and veil- my communion and my wedding and I was not taking it off until I had to.

Re: Question for the newlyweds?

Mine started bothering me as soon as we got in the limo, so after the pix it was off.

Re: Question for the newlyweds?

I wish I could of taken it off, every time someone hugged me they tugged on the veil and it pulled my hair down. But anyway, I wore it the whole night.

Re: Question for the newlyweds?

I wore mine the whole night but because of the style-it hung straight down from my updo in the back-it didn't bother me at all. It probably would have come off if it did.

I might get reamed for this, but please disregard comments discouraging your questions. You were clearly having an emergency and I believe the majority of us are happy to help.

I agree, emergency questions are welcome, as are most. I'm sorry, I'm having a bad week and I should not take it out on other people. Please forgive me!!!

Re: Question for the newlyweds?

Hi-
I was going to take it off, but instead wore it all night and it didn't bother me at all. I felt very 'bridal' in it, and chose to keep it and I'm so glad I did!
