Question of the day ... What are you planning for your anniversary?

Original post by Cira

Whether it's your first, second, or tenth! Since we are all so jealous of Shamma going to the Caribbean on her anniversary ... I thought this post may give us some ideas of things to do on our anniversary. It's never to early to start planning, right?

Okay ... we are planning to go to Aruba on our 1st anniversary! We have a timeshare there too.

Here's a pic ...

We are going to the Ritz Carlton Cancun.
It's been planned practically since the wedding.
I was so upset when our honeymoon was over, DH went to the travel agent and got a million brochures so we'd have a trip to look forward to!

Tsm76 if the Ritz Carlton in Cancun is like the one in Jamaica, you will be in heaven. My family and I stayed there for a night as a treat from my niece and it was like roylaty, talk about 5 STAR

JohnAnthony's 1st Birthday is all i'm thinking about for October. (day after our 3rd anniv). Its amazing how all other things DIMINISH in importance once you have a child!
I had said I Wanted to go on a cruise as a family, but DH thinks that age is too young to take...we'll see...(we're cruise fanatics!)
Ive just had small trips on my mind, since DH hately to fly
I also want to go to Niagara Falls ( i went once and would love to go back!)
Maybe Cape Cod (Where we got engaged!)

other than that, no big plans...excitement for me is hearing my son giggle ! we're counting down to taking him on a disney cruise when he's a toddler.

Shamma, yes my timeshare is through Interval International and the same as you, it is in Aruba but we can exchange out as well. Have you been with Interval International long? How do you like it?

Cira, the Playa Linda looked beautiful, my GF went there in her timeshare. We have a TS at La Cabana, I love the low rises and the fact that it isn't in the hub of all the high rises and is a very quick ride to town. I cannot wait to go back!

Re: Question of the day ... What are you planning for your anniversary?

We're spending a week in Poistano, Italy a month after our anniversary. We'll be celebrating our 1st anniversary and my parents 35th.

But the weekend of our actual anniversary, we're planning a weekend away. Maybe Vegas to go see 'O' (which I've seen but Al hasn't) or up to a B&B in wine country.

For our 7 month anniversary/Thanksgiving - we went on a second honeymoon to Cabo. Even got the honeymoon suite. We were celebrating every month, but forgot December. I guess we'll hold off now until April.

We travel a lot, so we're always going somewhere. In fact, I'm meeting my sisters in Mexico on Wednesday.

Well, for our first anniversary this past October, after the nightmare month I had before, I wanted to go to Vegas, but the big wuss I married won't get on an airplane. So I had to settle for Salem, MA around Halloween. We had a really good time and it was a lot of fun, but it wasn't VEGAS!!! So, I'm going to work on him again and see if we can go away for our 2nd!!

Cira - that place looks beautiful!! My DH and I own an RCI timeshare. Ours is in St. Thomas but we usually trade it in every year to go somewhere else. Let me know how the Aruba one is. I can't wait to go to Aruba!! Do you have any others you can recommend?? We used RCI to go to Mexico last year and stayed at the Pacifica in Ixtapa and it was unbelievable!! We had a one bedroom suite with a jacuzzi on the terrace overlooking the ocean. I highly recommend it!!!

All the best Debbie, I hope you get him to go. Hey there is always AC or COnnecticut....but they are not Vegas you are right.

Stacey we have been with Interval for 3 yrs, it is fine, as long as you plan early you will get the exchange. We are considering buying in another island. Who knows.

Thanks again ...
Traceyann ... we love Playa Linda ... it's one of the only timeshares in the middle of the hotels on the strip. Really close to everything. It's a Gold Crown Resort. Very relaxing ... not to crazy at the resort but near so much, so there is always something to do!
Bearsbabe ... you're to much! I'm actually afraid to fly, but muster all my courage to do so!

Re: Question of the day ... What are you planning for your anniversary?

Debbie, can we place joe and john in our luggage (and pack it away inthe attic, LOL) and you and i get on the plane and take a vacation without them !
JOHN Is THE SAME !! he has flown before, never further than FLorida. and after 9-11, he is REALLY not flying agan...
meanwhile i used to go to Italy every other summer of my life when I was younger... and i wasnt scared A BIT, and now just having flown with him, has gotten me nervous of flying...party pooper!

Cira, that looks beautiful !! My sister also has a timeshare through Interval, I have used it for weekened getaways several times. She also has a timeshare in aruba, the first week in June. I have also used it for the one-week getaways, great deals!!
