re-posting for pegs!(and anyone else!)

hey pegs! i just wanted to make sure u & anyone else saw this so i'm re-posting it here:

Not meaning to offend anyone-but Jenn I agree that pants should be the size they are...period. I think making sizes smaller b/c of the 'insecurity' that woman have with their size being 'too big' is ridiculous! I have seen women who are a 4 or 6 or 8 and they are gorgeous. It really is all i how you carry yourself and how you feel about your body-not the size on your pants....no one knows what size pants you wear except for you

BUT I was a 00 for years, and still was come wedding time. Now a 0 or a 1 depending on the cut-I am that poster girl for 'anorexic models' and always will be-5'7' and 100lbs is me. Its my genes, I cant help it-just about every bone in my body can be seen. So please dont bash anorexic girls b/c someone like me and I am sure others...cant help the fact that we cant gain weight and want to be a 2 or a 4 and we arent anorexic. Sadly I eat whatever I want b/c I hope that it will help me gain weight. I HATE going to to the store to buy pants b/c i hate having to go into the junior dept to buy them. 27 I should no longer be there. As much as it upsets you that they are making the size smaller for the response some woman will have...how do you think we feel? Not any better about the sizing issue then you

hey pegs i totally hear you on this...and i just wanted to clarify because i didn't mean to make ANYONE feel bad or down about ANYTHING.....
there is a huge HUGE difference between someone who is naturally thin, and someone who feels they NEED to be HOLLYWOOD THIN & think it looks good. My cousin who is also my best friend is natually thin....eats literally whatever she wants, but is still a size one...and she HATES it(even though she's drop dead gorgous!) imo, I think being naturally thin is a total blessing! This thread was more or less started about the sizing issue on clothes in general, and also the BEAUTIFUL women in hollywood who once had beautiful bodies, but now starve themselves or coke themselves out to be what they feel they HAVE to be. When someone is naturally thin, they are beautiful & just as much woman as a curvey girl....it's when they literally starve themselves(i.e. victoria beckham who publicly announced that she will only eat salad and nothing else for meals - and wont higher a nanny who's skinnier than she is) and look entirely unhealthy/un-natural. so hugs to you - because i think you're beautiful just the way you are and u should be proud that at 27 u can still shop in the jr. dept!! If it does bother u, know that this is EXACTLY what we were all talking about....they've marked down the tags so much that it sends u into other sizes & messes with our heads. In the longrun, regardless of the sizing issue, what i'm saying is you can visually tell that u are naturally thin....and it's a beautiful thing....u dont look like u've starved urself to bones & look like u're going to keel over like half of the celebrities do... u're still ALL woman!

I think we once discussed this Peg-it is not like you wear a sign with the size of your clothing. Who cares! I can be a 6 in some things, an 8 in some, a 10 in others. I don't personally aim for a size, but for fit. Just because it is 'my size' does not mean it will fit. I am 5'6'', I have a butt and I have a large chest. I actually buy everything, especially tops, larger! They shrink and I hate when they are too short.

I swear by J Crew for tanks, which I layer under everything. They are the best! And due to my chest, I always take a large, even an XL, because I would rather it look a little big rather than look like something my 11 year old sister would wear!

Size should not matter. Who cares! They are supposed to be guidelines. What matters is how you feel about yourself. We are all made differently.

Bottom line here-who cares what size you wear, how skinny, heavy, tall, short you are. Own your darn body! Who gives a rat's you know what!

Anorexia is a disease. Some people are just naturally incredibly tiny and that does not make them anorexic. Just as some girls are built bulkier and that does not make them overeaters.

EXACTLY my point!

I agree with you Taryn!

Every one of my posts said the same thing-if it was misconstrued in any way, thats not what it was meant to do. Nowhere did I insult or insinuate that there was an issue with being a real size 0. My point as I reiterated several times is that if you're naturally thin, GREAT. I am naturally a slim girl-just got a big ol' booty If you're naturally a REAL 0 and not a 'fake 0' liek I am in some brands of clothing, I have no issue with that.

But I do have a problem with designers making 000, forcing naturally small girls into the negative category like they want them to disappear,, and making girls who GASP are larger than a 0 or 2, feel fat because they start taking the tags and switching them.

Years ago if you were a size 4-8 no one blinked an eyelash. If you were smaller you were envied lol just as you are today but my whole point was that sizes whould remain true to what they are so no one is made to feel awkward about the size they are. 0 or 10, as long as you are healthy, ignore the number.

The whole post was meant to unite girls to the cause of doing away with the sizing issue and clothing tags-nothign to be controversial about. We're all on the same page.

I totally understand what you are saying, it more the fact that on the regular (which I cant stand) I get from people I know and people in general 'you are TOO skinny, maybe you should eat, you want a sammich'

It wasnt directly pointed at you guys, its in general.

Its like that saying-heavy people dont want to be called fat-I hate being called skinny. Hate hearing people say I want to be skinny...it isnt any easier to be skinny then to be heavy. I have ALL kinds of issues with pants and clothes bc I have string bean legs so I have problems.

Otherwise, I didnt mean for you guys to think it was directly towards YOU...it wasnt, it was in general. To me I am that crack addicted skinny girl bc SOO many people have made comments towards it. My MIL who I adore and love tells me all the time I am unhealthy looking and need to gain weight. I was more saying that as much as it annoys you that they are doing a bait and switch with sizes it annoys us skinny minnies too-I love ordering my wedding dress bc it was a 4 It was the greatest day of my life EVER! So basically its the opposite as what Jenn was saying, they are making the larger sizes smaller but now the smaller sizes are even smaller. It suuuuuuuuuuucks

TOTALLY understand pegs...like i said - my cousin has the same feelings as you....and i completely feel u. i really dont even care all that much about size tags.....i just hate how everyone feels the pressure to be thin from the media and crap....meanwhile we're a whole world of beautiful & unique women..but 90% of us are worried about how we look when we look in the mirror.

uh oh... not the skinny b*tch debate.

don't worry Peggy... I was heroin skinny ALL MY LIFE and ate whatever I wanted and didn't gain a pound. (I had a booty though so I could never wear anything less than a 6 MAYBE a 4)

once I hit 30 my metabolism slowed BIIIIIIIIIIG TIME...

enjoy it while it lasts... =P~
