Real or fake xmas tree?

Original post by SummerBride10

For those of you that have christmas trees...do you have a fake one or do you get a real one each year?

We're trying to decide what to do. I really don't want a real one because I heard its alot of work and can be messy (and guess who wil be cleaning it up!)

We are getting a fake one because the cats would destroy a real one. We might get a real one for outside though.

We buy a real one. Yes, I still find pine needles around the house but I love the smell so much!

This may seem weird but our cat loves it so much, that we partially get it for her. She just lays underneath it like she's one of the presents.

Always real! There's nothing like a real tree. The smell, the cool air and freshness that comes off of it!
If you let it go without water, or if you leave it up too long, it will be messier. But its not so bad. Nothing a lil vaccuuming can't fix.

OMG I don't know what we're going to do this year!! Walter pees on everything. How could I be mad if he actually peed on a tree? Oh how that would confuse him. I can't win!! Hence another reason why I could sleep right through Christmas.

We get real. I prefer it and love the smell! Its not that messy. Only the cleanup. I recommend putting a big garbage over it when u take it out otherwise its a huuuuuge mess. You have to water it daily. sweep a little more but its soooo pretty and cheaper!

I used to always get a real one but in our apartment we dont control the heat and its always a illion degrees so it will die quickly, so we dont have a choice to get a fake one this year

Always a real one. It may be a mess, but nothing compares to the smell and the experience of picking it out.

We have a fake one. Less money to spend every year then buying a real one and we just light a candle when we want that pine scent HAHA! It's the laziness in me!

FAKE!!!

I love the fake because:
I don't have to get on my hands and knees to water it,
I don't have to worry about pine needles,
It doesn't die like a real one would,
It holds my heavy ornaments (and I have some really expensive ornaments...like $50 each) while the branches on the real droop when you put heavy ones on and i'm always worried it will fall and break,
I can have the tree up longer

AND Bath and Body works sells amazing smelling oils and candles and room sprays that smell just like a real tree... if not better...

I love my fake tree!!!

DH prefers real though.... but the benefits of the fake outweigh the real for us!!!
