I'm with all the ladies...voyager class on RCCL all the way! We took Adventure of the Seas to Aruba, Curcao, St. Marteen and St. Thomas and loved every minute of it. I don't know if I'd do another cruise line again!

Princess was great!!! Last summer Dh and I went on an southern caribbean cruise and had the best time. I would NOT recommend Carnival, it's very low class.

Also, Norweigen Dawn has a cruise this year that leaves out of NY and goes to the southern caribbean for 10 or 11 days. That's great because the airfare to Puerto Rico can be expensive.

ALWAYS get a room with a balcony!

We went on a 12 night Mediterraean cruise for our honeymoon. We used Royal Carribean. It had a wonderful time.

This is the only cruise that I've every been on so I don't know anything about the other lines. We choose this particular one because of the time and the itinerary. (We wanted to go right after the wedding.)

Let me know if you need any more specific information.

We used Royal Caribbean for our HM, we were on Mariner of the Seas. It was the only cruise we've ever been on. I highly reccomend it.

Thanks for asking this question! DH and I are thinking about doing a cruise for our 1 year anniversary in May.

For those of you who have done cruises, do you book your airfare separately? Did you book the cruise yourself or use a travel agent? What do you do if your flight is late and you miss the boat?
Sorry if these are dumb questions! I have no clue how cruises work.

I went on a Carnival cruise for my honeymoon and didn't think it was low class. It was my first cruise and we had an awesome time. Some of the other lines are a little more higher end but I wouldn't say Carnival was bad. We had excellent service, good food and a very nice room with a balcony.

We went on the 7nt Southern Carribean cruise from San Juan to St. Thomas, Dominica, Barbados and Aruba.

I always go thru travelocity.com you can book your airline tickets then, or do it on your own at a later time. they sell cruise insurance I think it is 21.00 a person, I am pretty sure that covers delayed flight if you book flight with them. They give you a recommended flight time. usually you can get on the boat at noon ish and boat won't leave till 5.

We booked ours through our travel agent, you can book airfare through them or on your own, whichever you prefer. You can buy insurance, it will cover if the flight is late etc. It's not that much for the insurance.

We booked our cruise through Orbitz. We saved about $250 over booking with an agent. Definitely do price comparisons.

We were able to convert our timeshare points to airline tickets to San Juan. I would definitely check out airfare prices separately before buying it as a package with the cruise. If we paid for it ourselves directly with airline or online, it was still cheaper than the quote we got from the agent. Just make sure you give yourself 4-6 hours between the time you arrive and the time boat departs. If your cruise departs from Europe, Meditteranean, Pacific, etc.... I would purchase airfare with the cruise just to cover yourself if there is a problem with the flights.

Insurance is not expensive and worth it if you go in hurricane season.

Re: Recommend a cruise?

I will never go on Princess again. I got locked in a bathroom and no one came to help me, the lady who worked for the boat right outside of the bathroom I was locked in, was too busy selling coca cola cards, and ignored my screams for help, mind you someone else got locked in 1/2 hour before me and they never put an out of order sign on the door or fixed it. I got help from a fellow passenegr. I am now claustrophobic. All they offered me was very little off of a cruise with them. Not that I would ever give them my money again. For a boat that is concerned with safety, what had happened to me they could not have cared less about. I am dying to try RCL and Celebrity. I have been on the Norweign Dawn which is GREAT but DO NOT go on the Norweign Sea. AKA The Norweign Nightmare!

RCCL Navigator was my favorite but I had fun on a few Carnival ships as well.

Norweigan Sea was the worst vacation ever..i will never go on Norweigan again.
