I want to book a 4-5 day getaway as a surprise for our first anniversary, maybe aruba or jamaica since it will be in October (hurricaine season) any ideas for awesome beachy, relaxing locations that are not a zillion dollars?

I havent been there yet, but DH and I are going to Couples Sans Souci in Jamaica August 1-8. I definitely recommend checking their site b/c they have this Secret Rendezvous thing which would save you a ton of money!

We loved Excellence playa mujeres in Mexico. The food was great and it was so relaxing. The resort itself was wonderful. And they have daily specials for there Spa which was excellent and reasonably priced. Def worth revisiting for us!!

I swear by the RIU chain. I have stayed in the ones in Jamaica and Punta Cana and they were amazing. We are staying in the one in Riviera Maya in April.

i LOVE Sandals but it is pricey, we only did it bc it was our HM.
In Aruba we stayed at the Divi-Tamarijn. It is NOT luxurious BUT it is VERY clean, the food is great and it is right on the beach. . . .we loved it there and plan on going back one day!

Our place in brazil was half-board. But the drinks were cheap. You would want to take a whole week though. You would have to fly to Miami and get a flight to Reciefe. We went to Nannai in Brazil. Worth the long trip! But there are a bajillion AIs in the caribbean. I know that you can get a good deal going to the Dominican Rep and its a quick flight.

Any of the Secrets or Excellence. By October, most of the hurricanes hit further north, so that should not be too much of a concern.

that is where I stayed when I went with my Family. It definitely isn't luxurious since it is a Family friendly resort. but definitely a great one!
