Relief or Withdrawal??? Newlywed Poll...
Hi fellow newlyweds!!!I heard so much about girls being depressed after their wedding was over, crying, having 'wedding withdrawal.' But I seem to feel a HUGE sense of relief! Part of me is a little sad the day has come and gone, and I'll never get to dress up and be the 'princess of the day' again, but mostly I feel FREE!!! I feel like I can get back the parts of my life that I had to give up due to all the planning.
So what are you feeling?? Relief? or Withdrawal?
Karen

Re: Relief or Withdrawal??? Newlywed Poll...
I didnt feel strong relief or withdrawal. More happiness that things went well and having great memories to look back on.The reason I didnt feel relief is because I was not overly stressed during the planning. I enjoyed almost all of it.
No clue why I didnt have strong withdrawal issues as it occupied so much of my time for the 2 years before..but im glad i didnt :D

Re: Relief or Withdrawal??? Newlywed Poll...
I think I have a little of both. Relief that all that planning and stressing is done but withdrawal with the fact that I want to be in a wedding party or go to a wedding of a close friend since I have so much fun at weddings and did at my own. I'd like to help my friends plan a wedding but so far none at that stage, most are already married.

I felt both, relief from the stress and worrying about how things will go, how we'll pay it, etc. Withdrawal from the planning and 'being the bride'.

Re: Relief or Withdrawal??? Newlywed Poll...
I thoroughly enjoyed our wedding planning...the only thing that gave me stress was the money!! I lost my job 6 months before we got married and I got really scared that we would not be able to pay for the wedding! It all worked out in the end!!I LOVE planning parties. I really wish I had persued a path to being a wedding planner but life took me a different route!!

Re: Relief or Withdrawal??? Newlywed Poll...
Mostly relief! It was nice to not have any 'to-do' lists to refer to or think about! I loved that we had our weekends free, but it was nice having all of that attention! For about 2 yrs, it was one fun thing after another, the e party, showers, b-parties, RD, etc. I was sad to see it end. Then I looked at the future and see that there is so much still ahead!!

Re: Relief or Withdrawal??? Newlywed Poll...
Honestly I never felt a huge sense of relief or depression. I think part of it was the fact that we ended up purchasing a house very unexpectedly 2 months after the wedding and that became my 'new' project, plus I got pregnant in March. But when I saw my video I really missed the wedding day. I want to be a bride again, but not have the financial stress of planning of wedding again.

Re: Relief or Withdrawal??? Newlywed Poll...
Relief that I didn't have to keep worrying about every lunch that I ate out could be one more table camera or some other little detail! But as far as relief due to stress, I had no stress during the wedding planning except one time when the church made me mad, but besides that it was smooth sailing. I do miss everyone treating you like royalty since you are the bride! But on to bigger and better!

Re: Relief or Withdrawal??? Newlywed Poll...
Definitely relieved - I feel so free now. There is plenty of other stuff to take up the time that wedding planning and related things previously occupied. We had a wonderful wedding day. When I want to relive it, I watch the video. But I would not want to go back and do it again!

RELIEF written in big bright neon lights
I hated planning, the to do list, all the vendors all my time taken up, I did not enjoy it at all. Except the BP and the RD and the wedding day. I wish I could have the day again w/o all the planning.

Re: Relief or Withdrawal??? Newlywed Poll...
RELIEF. I hated planning, I never had enough time to get things done. I was very stressed and very busy at work. My family and BP although I love them all were not very helpful. I loved my wedding day but I am so glad the planning is over. No withdrawal at all but my brother is getting married so we still talk wedding in my family.Welcome New Vendors
