Re: Relief or Withdrawal??? Newlywed Poll...

I had a fabulous wedding!!!! I would love to have the ceremony and reception again- but that is it!!!!

The planning was taking a toll on me. My husband and I would get on each other's nerves in a major way- now we laugh about it- but there was a time when I could not wait for it to be over.

RELIEF!!!! I couldn't stand how stressed out I was towards the end, not to mention all the fights I had with dh & my mom. I couldn't wait until it was all over. It's nice now to look back at the pictures & look at the video, but it's also great to have my life back!

Re: Relief or Withdrawal??? Newlywed Poll...

Our wedding day was one of the happiest in our lives, and everything worked out beautifully overall including the weather.....but i was definitely relieved it was over because while I enjoyed the planning I was very busy at work and the stress of that combined with wedding plans made me crazy - I feel like I couldve done more if it werent for my insane job. After it was over, I was a little sad, but I came back to a lot of new stresses at work including a new boss, and a reorganization of my group/ department.... (edit to say - half of my group including my boss was laid off while I was on my honeymoon..!)

Now a year later, I have my memories, video and pictures to look back on the wonderful day/night our wedding celebration was....I will miss being the center of attention though.

Re: Relief or Withdrawal??? Newlywed Poll...

Relief mostly, I loved planning my wedding but it was stressful, and I really loved every moment of our wonderful day. I love the memories, and loved the day and the emotion between DH and me. But I would not go through that planning again for all the money in the world

I think most of my regret is fashion based, I want to wear my dress again This past weekend we went out with friends and (after a few too many drinks) I put my veil and tiara on agian in my house. I am sure they thought I was crazy But who doesnt want to be a diva for a day again?!

The most wonderful surprise is the depth of feeling at being married. After almost 8 years, living together for three, I did not know if marriage would feel and 'different'. But it does!! And DH feels it too, hes too cute and calls me his wife whenever he gets a chance. We are totally cheesy newlyweds, and that is the best

Re: Relief or Withdrawal??? Newlywed Poll...

I would have to say withdrawal. I have always dreamed of being a bride and of my wedding day and even though I had the most perfect day (imo of course ) I was sooo sad to see it end.
Thankfully, we moved into our new house the day after we got back from the honeymoon so it gave me something new to focus on.

RELIEF mixed with a little withdrawal. I just want to be princess for the day again.
