Re: Royal Caribbean cruise line
I took a cruise to the Bahamas out of Miami, 4 nights back in September 08, Majesty of the Seas. I think the ship's decor was a bit tacky but they have a few newer ships, so that's more of an asthetic thing. The food was good, but there's only so much variety since you're on a boat. But that did not stop us from eating a TON
As far as entertainment goes, there were quite a few options of things to do on the boat, shows or games that you could take part in, but we mainly stayed to ourselves, wandered the ship, hung out at the casino and made friends with a bartender lol
I haven't gone on any other cruises though so I have no comparison... HTH

Re: Royal Caribbean cruise line
I took them to Alaska...I would highly recommend them. Their service was excellent - we never wanted for anything. The food was fantastic - anything we wanted, on the menu or not - we had. We were on the Serenade (jeez - about 7 years ago) and I would say it was over all an excellent experience.I've cruised with Princess about 3 years ago - and while I don't have a negative thing to say about them - we would choose RCCL over them in a heart beat. It was just that much more of a positive experience.
HTH!

Re: Royal Caribbean cruise line
I've been on 2 Royal Caribbean cruises and 1 Carnival. I LOVE Royal Caribbean! It's my favority cruise line. My parents have been on about 4 different cruise lines and RC is their number 2 favorite.I took the Eastern Caribbean and the Southern Caribbean with RC and would recommend both cruises to anyone on their ships!
Sorry...food is AWESOME! My mom is a picky eater and always found something to eat, and they had something for everyone! The entertainment was AWESOME! There were always games or plays or shows or concerts going on when the ship was at sea or at night after you got back from the islands.
I think that covers it. I can say you will NOT be disappointed on RC. For me it's hard to top it!

Re: Royal Caribbean cruise line
Thank you all for your experiencesWe werent thrilled with our last cruise with Carnival so we are looking elsewhere for next year's European Cruise. Our big thing is the food. Carnival's food has gone downhill so much. The entertainment was only so-so.
We are definately looking into RC now!

Yes! I love RC.I have been on 4 RC cruise and 1 carnival cruise.
I prefer RC, after my carnival cruise I went back to RC. I don't think that I will ever take another carnival.
Edit!!! On carnival the only would make you what was on the menu, I find RC way more accommodating with dinners. and the staff seems much happier.

Yes! I only eat chicken. One night on my last RC trip there were no chicken choices. . . . and the waiter spoke to the chef and he made me some chicken and I had choices on how I wanted it. Also Anthony finished his steak and they gave him another one.

Re: Royal Caribbean cruise line
Just came from a vacation on the Royal Caribbean's Allure of the Seas....I could not imagine going on any other cruise line!!! I've been on 7 Royal cruises, and every ship, even the older (like, built in 1997) non-mega ships were amazing. The Mega ships (Navigator, Explorer, Freedom, Liberty, Oasis, Allure, Freedom) have a lot to do, but also feels more like you're 'indoors,' whereas when I went on the Enchantment & the Legend, there was a lot of glass & windows looking out into the sea, so it felt more like you were 'at sea' than on the bigger ships.
