I am the process of trying to find a dog to adopt. I have been sending in alot of applications online with little or no success. Dh and I work full days and for the beggining I told them I would crate the dog because of my cat I dont want it to scratch the dogs eyes out. I just get this email from this woman who says,
'we dont not want our dogs crated or left 8 hours a day sorry'.
Are these places saying that because I work I am not allowed to have a dog or will not take good care of it? Its just upsetting.

Re: rude ... vent -adopting dogs
Honestly, crating is very highly recommended by many reputable trainers as mentioned above. When we first got my dog, my DH was so against crating and I insisted (being that I had read up a lot on the matter at the time) and it was honestly the best thing we could have done! She eventually got to the point where she would randomly go into her crate whenever she wanted some alone time, to nap, etc. It's a shame that the people declined you a dog because of that - they're entitled to their own opinion, but it's a shame you couldn't get the dog because you wouldn't follow THEIR opinion/desire.
Good luck - you will find the right dog!

Re: rude ... vent -adopting dogs
well, if your interested my mom's dog had puppies. It was an accident, my dog (Pomeranian) came in contact with her (poodle) when I went to my mom's house for like 10 minutes...crazy Well there are 5 babies and if anyone is interested she is selling them for $150 adoption fee to help for the vet bill of her dog. 1 is pending to my mom's neighbor..so happy the puppy will be close by. The puppies are considered Pomapoo's because of the mix. Here is a pic from my phone. I can upload more over the weekend. Let me know if your interested. I would really like to find them good homes.
omg these pics are too cute. Someone at work has some westie pups that had to be returned I hope maybe I can get one! I know crating is totally normal. I am looking for a small doggie because I promised my landlord I would get a small dog is its written on my lease. Or else I would love to take that dog. I was actually looking to not get a puppy because I am not home during the day and I feel bad but I am open to older dogs.

Adopting any pet is a wonderful gesture, however I've heard this story repeat itself time and again. I know that screening potential owners is a must, but c'mon, let the pet get a good home already.
