I was on another board and I saw a post about NWs that sleep in different beds in the same room or even different bedrooms. There were so many replies of people who were doing this! I was scratching my head. What are your thoughts? DH says I am a bed-hog but he would never consider sleeping in another place...

When my snoring becomes too loud, J will sleep in the second room. If I am sick he will be there not to get infected. At first I thought it was weird but whatever it works.

DH hates our bed. It hurts his back. He makes an appearence in the BR a few times each night, but then heads back to the couch.
A few weeks ago we had an argument and I was sitting on the couch at the time and he said, 'I don't want you on my bed anymore! :)
As soon as we buy a house, we're getting a new bed. In the meantime, we'll just continue doing what we're doing.

Is this all the time??? or just for certain things?? like Radiant said, if you are sick or something that's ag ood idea. I don't know if I could sleep w/out DH. Since I started dating DH , I haven't slept that good in YEARS.
I sleep the whole night through when he is next to me, when I was growing up I would wake up constantly. I sleep so good with him next to me lol

Sigh, there are a lot of times when I wouldn't mind separate beds. DH is a restless sleeper, snores and thumps his legs, and it affects me because I don't get a good night's sleep. Huge difference when he was away for a week. I woke up every morning feeling refreshed, not like the 'have to drag my arse out of bed' I do every day. When he's really bad, I give up my king bed and head for the couch.

The only time DH sleeps somewhere other than the bed is when he falls asleep on the sofa and i dont want to wake him. lol

we have two bedrooms with beds in both but we have only slept separately if he falls asleep on the couch with his drinking buddy OR if one of us is deathly ill we might go into the other room so we don't get each other completely sick.

I'm the worst roommate! Apparently I snore, toss and turn, and beat up DH all while I'm alseep. But he still sleeps in the same bed.

My dads parents had seperate beds. I dunno if they always did or just when they started getting old.
I'd feel weird sleeping in a different bed from my DH.
ETA: If one of us is sick, we will also use the pull out so not to get the other sick.

We start out in bed together. He gets up in the night and goes to the living room. What has kept him in bed more is that we use our own blankets. I could never see having our own rooms. Well our own closet would be nice!

really separate beds? not for us- once when we had a fight, he tried to sleep in the guest room, but I wouldnt let him- I told him I would bother him all night till he came to bed

My DH keeps me warm, he is my human bed heater so I need him in there! Sometimes he snores, like rarely and I just make him turn over.
But other than that I love sleeping with him and waking up next to him! When he is away I have a terrible nights sleep!

You know how everyone has SOMETHING that they are irrational about? well this is MY thing. My ILs sleep seperately. . . and to me, sleeping together is what makes us husband and wife and not roommates.
so even though i snore, or he may be deathly ill - we sleep in the same bed. if he falls asleep on the couch i will go and drag him into bed.
once we fought, and he went and slept on the couch ( which is really a love seat ) and i smooshed myself between him and the couch and made him try to sleep like that until he gave up and we both went to bed, LOL
whenever someone asks what is your favorite part of being married, i always say 'sleeping together' i love waking up in the middle of hte night and for some reason he is up to and we will have a whole conversation and then both fall asleep like seconds later - i love when he pulls me closer in his sleep without realizing it - i love when our dog whines bc we didnt leave enough space for him in between us LOL
