Ever since the wedding, I feel everything is still hectic (when it really isnt). My place is still filled with gifts and I have wedding crap everywhere that I still need to go through. How long did it take you to finally feel settled in and relaxed?

Re: Settling down
So true! Last night I looked at the 'stuff' still don't know what to do with it! I think I'm spending the weekend putting it all away. I'm so tired of seeing it...plus it's a little depressing....the reality of it all being over.

Re: Settling down
We went on our HM right after the wedding and then it probably took at least another 2 weeks to feel kind of settled. We desperately needed to clean up our apt which was a train wreck during the last few months before the wedding. In ways, I feel settled, but in other ways, I still don't feel settled, especially b/c i still have so many thank you cards to write and can't seem to find the time to get them done.

Re: Settling down
It took a couple of months. We actually threw a Labor Day party that forced us to get our butts in gear and get the house organized.
Good Luck, Kelly

Diva, to be honest, I'm only now--in the last month or so--calm with really nothing going on, which is a good feeling. We worked on our place, bought furniture, lived at Home Depot for what seemed like months. Then, I had the thank yous and we worked on the album. We also both got promotions at work...it was really busy. I just the other day told my mom that we're finally settled and relaxed. It's probably the best, calmest time of my life! It takes a while...so don't stress!!! :)

Re: Settling down
I felt that way right after the bridal shower. After the wedding, I felt like a huge weight had been lifted off my back after the HM and my life would then go back to normal. So, I guess three weeks it took me, that is when I was done with my thank you's. After the thank you's, I felt a sigh of relief! I guess, it was easy for me b/c I pretty much threw everything in my parents basement until we can use it when we get a house.

I'll let you know when it happens...but I don't think it'll be any time soon. We decided after the wedding to look at houses and put our place up. Then realized that the market is slow and DH is concerned over the $$$ of houses so now we'll wait - and fix up our co-op. Kind of excited to redo the bathroom but things are still hectic.

Re: Settling down
Well, it's gotten better for us, but there is still stuff to do, although most of it isn't wedding.
This weekend, we spent a lot of time trying to organize the apartment better. I finally stored a wreath my mother made for my shower, and my crinolines. I moved in two months before the wedding, and we didn't really settle down completely. And we still have some legal/financial matters to settle, plus our album photos to choose, artwork to hang, etc.
I'm guessing by January if not sooner, I'll finally feel relaxed, though it is much better than it was one month after the wedding.

It has been really crazy for us... DH had shoulder surgery right after the wedding, I started student teaching in Sept, etc. I think life as adults is just crazy busy!

Re: Settling down
I got married in January and probably July is when I finally felt settled and in a good place.
