Anyone's DH snore to the point that some nights you just gotta leave the room? If so, how does it affect (or not affect) your relationship. DH feels sorry that he keeps me up some nights, but also gets sad when he wakes to not see me there.

Re: Snoring, Hubby and YOU
this is definelty interesting - My DH doesn't store badly everynight - but it can be terrible
the humidifier woks well so does sleeping on his side
but there are defiently nights i am almost crying trying to fall asleep - and i hate sleeping in the other room
just a note about sleep apnea - in about 60% of the cases loosing weight can prevent it - not that everyone who has ti is over wieght- it is serious thing

Re: Snoring, Hubby and YOU
unfortunately, my DH is only home 4 nights a week on average. he snores, I wake him up and tell him to roll over, he does and the snoring stops enough for me to fall asleep, then I am sure it starts again, but I don't know about it.
a few times I tried to sleep in another room, but it didn't work, I was uncomfortable!

My DH snores like nobodys business. We have tried everything, next step is the doctor. I go on the couch 2-3 times a week, and I could sleep during if a bomb went off, he is so loud.

Yes especially when he has been out drinking..lol The worst is sometimes he has to cough and he coughs right on me.. Cover your mouth.. he says I am sleeping I did not know I was coughing.. lol

Re: Snoring, Hubby and YOU
wow! its amazing how many men snore! i suddenly feel less alone in the world.
As many mentioned above, I will reiterate what works for us
- humidifier -side or stomach sleeping - limit smoking of any type of 'cigarettes' - ear plugs - king sized bed with very good support (memory foam mattress - i have no idea why but this made the snoring a little less intense.) - nudging him awake going: 'honey!' ...and he says (every time) 'was I snoring?!' (no, I'm just waking you up at 3am to say hi!) and then he apologizes...
and, on a night when you REALLY need sleep, have him take a small dosage of decongestant before bed - it will really open up his passages. Of course not one to do every night, but every once in a while it helps.
oh, and if anyone should leave the room - it should be the snorer! Sorry, not said to be offensive, but it seems unfair that you always have to leave and sleep on the couch...
Good Luck!

Sometimes I wear ear plugs and sometimes we switch who gets to sleep on the couch. It stinks!

Re: Snoring, Hubby and YOU
my husband has severe sleep apnea. he has a CPAP machine. he usually falls asleep without the machine and i have to wake him to put it on. i really hate that. if he feels stuffed or has a cold, he won't wear it and he voluntarily sleeps on the couch. the whole thing makes me feel bad.

DH snores, but all I have to do is nudge him and he'll stop. Although lately he's been breathing REALLY loud, which is starting to annoy me because I can't make him stop. I find myself consentrating so much on it that I have to sleep in the other bedroom.

DH snores sometimes. It can get pretty loud, but usually I'll just kind of, bounce hard on the bed, he wakes up a little and rolls over and it stops - usually. Sometimes he gets mad at me and gives me a dirty look, but usually forgets ever waking up the next morning.
I know if I'm not in bed with him - like at my dad's summer place, we sleep in twin beds that are about 4 feet apart - OMG he gets loud sometimes and then I can't nudge him - so sometimes I throw a pillow at him to wake him up!

Re: Snoring, Hubby and YOU
FH has just started snoring and breathing really loud recently. He has been spraying that stuff - I think it is Breathe Right spray and if he uses it a 1/2 hour before he plans on going to sleep then it seems to be ok....he usually starts again at around 5:30am, which I can handle bc I get up around that time.
