Anyone else out there suffering sleepless nights because your preciouse DH sounds like a grizzly bear? Any tips/advice on what to do? I love my husband while he's awake but some nights I contemplate choking him just to shut him up! I'm dying for a decent nights sleep

Not a newlywed, but can I join this group too?
He usually isn't very loud, but he snuggles up to me while sleeping and snores right in my ear. It has gotten to the point where he sleeps on the couch now. I HATE sleeping with out him, but I cannot function if I don't sleep well. We'll get a futon to replace the couch in the livingroom so he is more comfortable. We will also probably get a 2br coop/condo/house, just b/c of the snoring.

Well I had NO LUCK!
I had to go sleep on the couch last night (something I've NEVER done) because he just wouldn't STOP!!!!!!
He also has the last of a cold & I'm hoping it gets better. It has just been HORRIBLE all week!!!

Re: Snoring spouse support group
My Dh has sleep apnea and it's very hard for us to get a good night sleep. I am up constantly and become very angry and upset in the middle of the night and find functioning the next day hard. DH not only has sleep apnea to deal with to make him tired but now he has me phyically waking him up many times throughout the night. Sometimes the two of us look like zombies the next morning. It's awful!
DH is 'trying' to lose weight, unfortunately he is not working hard enough. He started to go to the gym in January 4 days a week for an hour each time. But he continues to eat a lot and snack a lot so I don't see it improving any time soon. I hope he gets motivated to DIET along with the gym.
He refuses to get surgery (cortorize the neck fat) and refuses to get the machine (blows oxygen at a steady pace into the nasal passage). He thinks if he just loses weight it'll get better.
I don't mind steady snoring - that I can deal with at night. But the constant gasping for breath and the body jerking and the stopping breathing completely drives me insane.
I've slept on the couch, he's slept on the couch but in the end, we're married I cannot live my life each night on the couch! It's so frustrating!

You should really try to convince him to wear that bipap machine. It's noisy as heck and it's a pain in the butt to wear I'm sure but I've heard so many people rave about how much better they feel in the morning. Even if he is losing weight it won't all be gone by tomorrow and at least one of you should start getting a decent nights sleep.

Apparently, I am the one who 'wakes the neighborhood, putting the neighbors roosters to shame'! I think DH is just dreaming

I snore. Really really bad. My poor dh ends up on the couch. Sometimes a cold air humidifier works.
Same here, it *****. My DH sleeps with earplugs every night. The cold air humidifier helps somewhat. He snores a bit, but I am not as sensitive to him and can still sleep.

Unfortunately I'm the snor-er of the two. Some nights he goes and sleeps on the couch because he can't take it. Too bad for him the baby sorts of does it now too

My DH's ENT said that he might have Sleep Apnea too, and told losing weight would help. And some of the symptoms of sleep apnea is that the person is tired all the time and trouble concentrating. It's tough!

My FH has sleep apnea. His snoring was so bad that even when I wore earplugs, I could feel the pillows vibrating. He got the machine and it is GREAT. There are a few different versions of the machine and his is more comfortable. He was so nervous at first, and he can't talk when it is on but we both got over it (and we developed a sort of sign language if he wants to say smoething to me before he falls asleep!).
