Snow Day!

I cant believe that Bloomberg actually closed all non-essential NYC offices today. So I get a paid day off!!!
This never happens!

My poor brother though- his dept is considered essential. They have to make it in somehow

I'm a little upset...this is my vacation week so I'm off anyway. The snow is ruining my vacation! On the bright side, DH has vacation too so he doesn't have to work!

DH took a half day snow day yesterday and I tried my hardest to convince him to take a full day off today but the man couldn't be stopped. He put on boots with his suit and went to work boo hoo hoo.

So now it's just Slashy-poo and I. I am going to try hard to be productive and do an expense report but there are so many fun distractions like finishing my review!

DH is a banker so he only had a 1 hour delayed opening thank God for my dads snow blower!

What do you mean they lifted it? They made the announcement on the NYC.gov website this morning. How can they tell people they dont have to go to work then take it back?? I better get a paid day off for this

I am an assistant district attorney and technically work for the CITY..............................

If so, I am so glad I didnt make it in! Not that that was happening anyways. SO MUCH SNOW!!

It might vary by agency - but in the update it says 'And as I said over the course of a dozen or so interviews with TV and radio stations this morning, as transportation options get better, City employees should come in to work.'...

it says as transportation gets easier City employees should come into work. Well as of 1;30 my bus still wasnt running and there is no way I can walk to the train. I think they still will pay people who didnt come in.

Do you get paid by the city? if so then you are considered a city worker

yes i am paid (peanuts) by the city of new york. just bitter if i have to take another annual day bc of the snow!

According to my HR person we a getting a paid day off. There is a 2-10 shift at my office and those people had to come into work. So from what I am understanding if you have a 7-3, 8-4 or 9-5 shift you will get a paid day.

I guess I will find out more tomorrow
