So, if you're no longer friends with someone who was a guest at your wedding...

Original post by kris_gets_hitched

...what do you do about a TY card?

I cut ties with someone back in December. Someone who was my friend since high school but turned kinda weird and borderline toxic.

So I send one?

What do I write?

'Thanks for not being in a lot of the professional photos; it was easy to weed yo' @ss out of them that way'

We did. The person was our wedding party.

I had DH do it. That was my solution.

When I had the baby last week, she text messaged my DH congratulations. Whatthefuckever.

i should, i know it because its the right thing to do but this is a very odd situation....

we worked for the same company, she quit (basically she was gonna be fired and quit cuz she knew it) and then i got her position.

we havent talked since. she is much older, not someone who i was like a peer of mine that i considered like one of my girlfriends but definately an older motherly type of friend...

i just dont want to send a thank you and her think, b t c h but then again she's already thinking that and since i didnt send one, shes definately gonna think that. i dont know, im still up in the air. i got her job just by chance, but i know she doesnt believe that

HAHA! I would TOTALLY write that about the pro pictures. I actually have a bridesmaid that was the WORST bridesmaid on earth and went a little crazy on me a couple of weeks ago for having a life and not involving her in it every step of the way - BTW did I mention she was the WORST bridesmaid EVER and told me how her wedding was better then mine and how much she hated my SIL who I'm REALLY close with and refused to be nice to her THE DAY OF THE WEDDING!

ANYWAY, back to your question. For the non-friend anymore I didn't write anything. I wanted to write to her 'Thank you for not smiling in any of my proofs, making my wedding about you, and for being completely useless all while being a b*tch' but instead I opted to just leave it blank. I have a photo card so there is stuff written on it already so I decided to not write anything and be fake about it. It hurt me enough to put her address PLUS if I'm not friends with her anymore she's going to talk about me whether I write on it (call me fake to everyone) or not (that I'm a b*tch and didn't thank her for anything - although nothing to thank her for).

I would say, either don't write anything OR if you want to just write the gerenic 'Thank you for sharing in our special day and for your generous gift.' That usually p*sses me off more then writting nothing since it's the same on every other card.

this is a good solution, so at least they can't be like 'she never even gave me a thank you.' Not that you'd care, but your conscience would be 100% clear, you know?
