with all the talk of crying on your wedding day...did you really lose it or were you ok? Also, did your DH tear up?
Me personally, the only time I got misty was when I danced with my dad.

Re: So Newlyweds
we were ok....well..I lost it while dancing with my father.
During our vows (which we wrote ourselves) I got choked up which made my grandma cry and DH said if I started to cry, then he would have started.

Re: So Newlyweds
My voice started breaking when I had to speak during the ceremony, and I cried when Brad sang to me.

Re: So Newlyweds
I only cried when dancing with my dad, but I thought I'd cry all the way down the aisle....well, I was wrong! All my years of ballet and performance suddenly turned me into a total ham and I was smiling all the way down! DH cried as soon as he saw me and when my father gave me to him. He also got teary dancing with his mother.

Re: So Newlyweds
I got emotional when I had to say my vows. My husband was fine.
And I cried when my husband danced with his mother. The song really was sentimental. 'You raisesd me up' By Josh Groban.

Re: So Newlyweds
I expected to cry down the aisle or at the altar, but I held it together and was overtaken with a sense of joy. However, as I was walking down the aisle and approaching my groom, he mouthed the words to me, 'You look so beautiful.' I completely choked up at that point but recovered by the time my dad and I actually got to him at the end of the aisle.
Funny thing is, as I was walking down the aisle, I could hear one of my relatives literally BAWLING. She was HEAVING with sobs and I refused to look over and see who it was because I knew I would lose it if I did! I have asked around, but only have some guesses as to which relative this was!!

Re: So Newlyweds
I really thought that I was going to be a complete sobbing mess, and I was so nervous that I wasn't going to be able to say my vows because when I cry, my throat closes up on me and I can't talk! But miraculously I held it together (I think because I was in a daze through most of the ceremony). I only got choked up once during the vows, and was able to continue on.

Re: So Newlyweds
When it was time for me to get out of the limo I almost started to cry but I held back. My dad however, started bawling like crazy all the way down the aisle which caused a few tears to fall for me too. I wouldnt say I was actually crying though.
Then later when I danced with my dad I cried like the biggest baby ever!!! I dread seeing those pictures!
I didnt cry during my vows, or anytime with DH, just with my dad!

Re: So Newlyweds
I was so calm that people reminded me that I was getting married because they thought I was TOO calm. I don't remember seeing DH crying.

Re: So Newlyweds
I did start when my parent surprised me with the bagpiper and when he escorted my father and I over the bridge into atlantis marine world.
It was awesome and something I will never forget!! Also just looking at my husband made me emotional.

Re: So Newlyweds
I only lost it when I got home from the beauty salon, and saw the my girls were getting their makeup done. My parents and Rosalie (my planner) made sure that I released all of the tears then.
My dad did a great job of not letting me cry. When he walked me down the aisle and during the father/daughter dance, he was telling me jokes.
I don't think that David teared up at all.

No I didn't cry or get teary. The only time I almost got teary was just before I walked down the aisle!

Re: So Newlyweds
I didn't cry at the ceremony at all, I thought I would. I cried during the speeches, my dad's and our best man were just so emotional and perfect. DH cried during the speech too. I also cried when I danced with my dad.

Re: So Newlyweds
I was a bundle of nerves the whole time and as soon as they opened the doors and my father grabed my arm that is when I started to cry and I pretty much cried the whole ceremnoy and through bits and pieces of the reception.

Re: So Newlyweds
My first cry was when the photogragher put me nose to nose with my flower girl (DH's niece). Don't know why that hit me the way it did. I also cried a few other times that day...
When the Deacon read what I wrote about DH during our ceremony, my groom bawled.

Re: So Newlyweds
I am such a baby normally - I actually cry at Hallmark commercials sometimes, but I didn;t tear up once at my wedding. I was too excited and too happy to cry - which shocked me! I thought for sure that I would bawl through the whole ceremony! It's funny actually - there isn;t one picture of me that I am not BEAMING with happiness!
