DH and i went to a baptism yesterday for a friend---when we got home--he said 'Seeing her with her baby, makes my biological clock tick, I want a baby.'
Its like I'm the guy sometimes. Cause I immediately felt the temperature in the apt. rise about 10000000 degrees. I said 'we have time babe' and he said 'I know--but I just feel like I want a baby soon.'
I immediately reached for my birth control pills and swallowed that bad boy.

lol awww thats so cute! DH also tells me all the time he wants kids and cant wait...i always am the one also saying..but we have time and were still young! lol

I have to say, DH and I were always on the 'whatever happens, happens' page as far as kids, we wanted them soon and well, we got one.
But I can't imagine how that convo must go in your guys' lives. Asking seriously, do you find that it puts a strain on your relationship or is it usually pretty lighthearted and understanding?

Im the same way when DH says 'I cant wait to have kids' I give him that fake 'Me too' where my mouth doesnt move with the words IM saying and my eyes dont blink. i definitely feel like the guy

It doesnt put a strain but sometimes he gets really disappointed. Its funny cause he knows where nowhere near ready to have one now but then he gets upset when I say HELL NO to kids.

Honestly, not to get all serious but I think that is nice. DH has NEVER said that - we know we are going to have kids eventually but he is no rush and I am a little jealous when I hear about all these guys that want kids.
Don't get me wrong I don't want any RIGHT now but it would be nice if he didn't answer people with 'GOOD GOD NO!!!' when they ask if we are trying yet. I feel like its going to be a fight if I am ever ready.
But I am all talk and I can say that because he ISN'T like that, so I am sure if he ever changed his mind I would be the one freaking out.

Strain I donno.. maybe I just get very when the topic is continually discussed b/c I think it is a bad time - and even if it were a good time.. We cannot b/c the meds I I have to take for some months - and he knows we CANNOT conceive right now b/c of birth defects and that seriously pisses me off

i wish DH said he wanted to have babies. i'm always saying it and hes like...lets be married a year first. now its...lets live in the house for 6 months. i know he wants to have one, but he doesnt act like it. so you're lucky!

I'm sorry. I can see how frustrating it would be to you to have it brought up over and over, especially when now it is basically a dead issue considering your meds. (<--- I mean that)

there are days or i should say a few moments where I go I want a baby then I turn around and look at our apartment, debt, bills, etc and go is this what I want to deal with? I mean I come home after working 8 hours, go do laundry go to the gym while doing laundry. IF I don't do laundry then I have to cook dinner and make lunches for myself and husband then clean the apartment - add a baby to it? NO WAY!
When things get less hectic and I can actually have time to invest in raising a kid then maybe.
