Still mad about my # of proofs

Been married 8 months, accepting the fact that my photog $ucked azz and that thats never going to change, but every time I see someone post about the 1500 proofs they got, when I got 258, I get sad, mad and want to cry again.

When will I get over this?????

I wouldn't stress... you got a decent amount of proofs...

honestly I think there are worser things in life to get upset over...

what you need to focus on is sharing the rest of your life with the man you love...

I feel the same way sixth months later and I keep hoping it will get better...

Putting my album together actually helped me feel better about my pictures--I focused on what I had and not what I was missing. Maybe you will feel this way too.

Did you like the pictures he took? Try to focus more on the quality rather than quantity.

This is what I'm dealing with too. DH hates when I look at them because I get so depressed.

I'm sorry you are feeling this way...

Thats another thing, the quality was just ok. The pictures themselves were not blurry or anything, but the settings and the still pictures were eh. (My mom was in 2, and the background of most of the stills were not what I had wanted - image pictures in front of a dead bush- thats essentially what they were).
These things in addition to the fact that I got so few pics, lead me to the feeling I was robbed. I didnt confront the company and Im really mad at myself for that. I just want to get over feeling mad about the quantity AND quality of pictures of the most important day of my life.

I dont mean to whine or sound like Im feeling sorry for myself, but Im having trouble getting past this.

ed: I do enjoy every day as a married woman and am enjoying planning our future lives together, but this huge negative cloud still lingers in my mind

i don't think you're whining! you're venting and hopefuly feeling BETTER thantmany of us weren't happy and can relate, that you are not alone. hopefully time does help your perspective and ease the anger. i'm glad you posted your vent, this is the place to do it.

I completely understand. It's been over a year since my wedding and although I am happy with my photos, there are other things that I was not happy about that I can't stop obsessing about.

I am hoping that in time, it will all go away.

I completely understand. Our video is rotten (video guy dropped camera during our ring exchange, neglected to interview my parents, recorded only 90 minutes of a 5 hour reception, etc.) and dealing with the vendor is just as bad as watching it.

I'm very angry, it's not fading and I want every bride-to-be choosing a video vendor to know about my experience.

Re: Still mad about my # of proofs

i am still upset about certain things 8 months later as well! It's all part of the fun.

I felt so much better about my pics after I put together the album. Have you done that yet?

Also, I don't know if this will help you - but it has been my saving grace. I really try to think about the 'bigger picture' when I get caught up and emotional about my flowers, not having enough time to talk to everyone, thinking my vows were not good enough...blah blah blah. The bigger picture for me: Having my husband next to me every night. There are women who are widowed, some at a very young age (I know one!), and I cannot imagine that pain. Somehow that helps me think bigger... Also, I think about women whose wedding took place in a church basement and they had punch and cake and non-professional pics cause thats all they could afford! We are all so blessed to have had spectacular weddings in Long Island/NYC.

HTH!

Did you like your photos? Also, did you have one photographer or two? I got around 450 from one photographer, which isn't a huge number, but they were really good photos, and my photographer didn't miss anything, so I'm happy with them.

I know what you mean, initially I was pissed too when people were posting that they got 1,000, but then I saw some people saying that of those 1,000, they got very few photos that they liked.

You can also tell your photographer there were some pictures you would have liked--he/she may have more that were not offered to you.

thanks for reminding me of this.
I dont personally know any young widows, thank God, but I do know a few couples who had their wedding receptions in a school gym or a church basement. I will try and keep these things in mind. Im sure it will help. Thanks

My Dh should call yours so he would know I am not crazy. He won't even discuss it anymore.

I'm thinking of showing him this thread so he can see that I'm not the only one feeling this way.

Do it! I logged onto LIW about a month after the wedding and showed my husband all the threads on Newlyweds about post-wedding angst. He finally understood! 8 months later however, he won't let me make wedding comments anymore and he is back to thinking I am insane when I look at the TV and say ' I wish my curls looked like that on the wedding day...' I can't wait for my insanity over this to go away!

I think its a good number and if you like them too. Honestly the average I think is 600, sometimes I think it can be overkill with so many pictures. Im sure people took pics at your wedding too, I would ask for the negatives so you have a variety of angles and shots!

Hey at least you can find an album and ONE album to put them in!!!!
