Still Sad it Over...Anyone else?
I miss our wedding so much. I actually miss the planning and all the anticipation leading up to the big day. I miss the excitement of our wedding being the next big event for everyone and what everyone talked about.I know this is silly but somedays I definitely have post wedding blues big time.
Just hoping I am not alone on this one and not completely losing my mind because DH thinks I'm a little on the crazy side.

I'm completely with you girls. My subscription to Modern Bride and Brides hasn't run out yet, so last night I flipped through a magazine. I felt so pathetic.

Re: Still Sad it Over...Anyone else?
I had the post wedding blues pretty badly. I would say it took a good 6 weeks or maybe even a little more to get it out of my system.Hang in there - it will be better soon!!

Re: Still Sad it Over...Anyone else?
I have been married over 4 months and I still have the post wedding blues. I want to plan another party. It doesn't even have to be a wedding, just a very finely detailed party with flowers and pretty invitations and favors and a nice band. I wish I had a reason to plan a big function. I think it would be nice and fun!Hmm, maybe I should become a party planner!

Me too, me too! I had heard about the wedding blues from other people, and at the time I thought that would never happen to me, but I think it began the morning after the wedding. I just hope it is over soon, the holidays are coming, mayve I will plan a party for then!

I agree with you ladies... I miss all the planning, but take on a new project to distract you. Me, for instance, I'm dedicating a lot of time to furnishing & decorating our new place. That's just as fun, too! And when that ends...

Re: Still Sad it Over...Anyone else?
Ive had the Blues too, it comes and goes, I really find myself sad, and jealous of people that are getting married now! Ive had a few days where i would even cry. Ireally miss it i loved all the planning sooooo much it was just as fun as the big day to me. We should have a therapy group. Any psychologists out there this could definitely be a promising field Post Wedding depressionI hope it goes away soon

Really? I liked planning it, but I'm glad its over. I like knowing I planned something & it was completed.and I like to be able to talk to my husband about things besides wedding planning.
I think what I am saddest about is the honeymoon-- I don't think I'll ever be able to convicne him to spend that much money on a vaction ever again!

Re: Still Sad it Over...Anyone else?
I'm with you, Tourist.Shortly after the wedding (in the early weeks right after the HM) I think I fell into a funk and was a bit sad about the wedding being over. Mostly because the day went SO much better than we could have ever dreamt, and we both really enjoyed ourselves at our wedding. It was the best party I'd been to in awhile and all our friends and family really came thru for us. It remains the happiest day of my life and the fact that it flew by and could never be duplicated did truly make me sad
But I would never want to go back to the months that led up to the wedding. Our entire lives revolved around the wedding, and planning, and running back and forth to LI.. I felt like our entire lives were on hold and that all of our energy was thrust into this 'wedding' that we were losing control over. I am not the party planning type I suppose, and I totally stressed and obsessed and wore myself out. I was sick all the time and never felt as happy as a 'bride 2 be' should.
So in many ways, yes I do get meloncholy for the wedding day itself.. but overall I'm SOOO glad the day is behind us. We are so much happier as a couple now and are really loving married life more than I could imagine

See, I like party planning,I think I'd rather do someone elses, or at least parties that don't have the potential to tear my family apart.
And, it wa suchabigthing that it was liek a second job. I think that's what I really didn't like--it wasn't the wedding planning per se , but have a 'second job'after this already draining one with its long commute.
