Strapless gown question...(Bride or MOB)

Did anyone's mother buy a strapless gown and then have a jacket or shrug made? I'm nervous about what to do with mine. I can't leave the dress and the shawl as it is for dancing.
Any pictures would really be appreciated.

I truly need help.

my mom wore a strapless and had a shawl it was fine and looked great

My MIL wore a strapless gown and she had a shawl. But she hardly wore it at all, and it looked fine.

My MIL is the blond in the photo.

My mother had a strapless and I think she only wore the wrap that came with it during pictures. I'm sure a seamstress could turn the wrap into a shrug or what about pinning the wrap with a nice broach

My mom wore strapless to both my wedding and my brother's. My mom had a shawl for my brothers which she only used for church because it made her more confortable to wear strapless at church. She took it off for all pictures and the reception. It was a summer wedding so it was very warm. For mine, my mom the dress came with a jacket which she had tailored for a more fitted look. My wedding was late October so it was a little chillier. She wore the jacket for church and most pictures but it came off as soon as the reception started.

Both my mom and MIL wore a strapless gown and they looked great. They had shawls that they wore down and aisle and in temple but they took them off for most pictures and the reception. THey both said they were ver comfortable. Let me try to post pics!

My Mother's gown was originally strapless, she had spaghetti straps put on it. She also has a matching shawl.

Thank everyone. You have such beautiful mothers. I hate the way the underside of my arms looks so I really want something made. If you can post pictures I would really appreciate it.

Christine, that is a priceless shot of your mom. How wonderful that someone captured the moment.
I also love the picture in your profile. Looks like it's straight out of a movie!

Thanks for the pictures everyone. I don't know if the shawl is large enough to make jackets like I see your moms wearing but I'm going to put my faith in the seamstress and hope for the best!
