Tahiti and Bora Bora

in Bora Bora, when you first get there - make a dinner reservation at the restaurant that only seats I think 5 tables-I can't remember the name, I think it was some guys name, but it's suppose to be the best restaurant on the island and it books very fast. We didn't get to go because we heard of it towards the end of the trip. In addition, I highly recommend the outside BBQ and dinner truck set up by the locals behind the main island dock-they make these delicious marinated steaks and other food for take home dinner-it was huge portions and very cheap. We took the food back to our overwater hut and watched movies one night, it was great. I would skip the Bamboo house on Bora Bora, it wasn't that great. do the half day shark feeding-if you are up for that, you don't actually get to feed the sharks, the guides feed them and you watch under the water.

Do all your shopping in Tahiti, because I found Bora Bora to be a little pricey except some t-shirts. Take advantage of the Lee's grocery store/liquor store in town if you don't have a meal plan at your resort on bora bora.

I was there last year. DH is a teacher too. It is a humid climate this time of year. Take a lot of film and sunscreen. We were on a cruise. I did a review last August. I was also in Tahaa and got a black pearl loose instead of set in anything it was a lot less $$ and then I set it at home in a pendant. HTH
