Talking to Inlaws

Do you call your mil on the phone? We are having a debate at work - My inlaws talk to my dh many times during the week - they live overseas so I don't really ever talk to them. I get along great with them but just don't call. People at work thought I should call to say hi every once in a while since we only see them once or twice a year

I rarely call her, but she calls the house weekly to see how everything is going.

i can honestly say i don't think i ever really call her. not cause i hate her or anything---but i just have nothing in common with her and she's--well its hard to describe. she's kind of a quiet person who doesn't do much. a conversation with her is usually one person talking and she is saying:
'oh yeah?'
'hmmm'
'uh-huh'
'oh okay'

so i don't bother.

i call when i have to ask/tell her something and i know DH will forget, but i don't call just to chat. so i say maybe once a week.

I only call if there's a purpose. We see them once a week or once every other week, they live in the same town as us (but, aren't overbearing, can't tell you the last time MIL has been in our house).

DH talks to his dad almost every day and sees him a couple of times a week (he's retired and since DH is in FDNY, they do things together during the day - like take all of the junk in our garage to the dump or play golf).

I never call but we see them about once a week. DH talks to his parents all the time though.

I talk to my MIL 2-6 times per week it depends on how much is going on that week. She is a sgreat lasy, we are moving into her apt the day after Thanksgiving, then it'll be everyday!

I am exactly the same. When i get home from work it is after 11pm for them so I hardly ever speak to them on a weekday. IF Dh called them on the weekend and i was in the room with him i would talk to them but I have never just called them up.

I sometimes email them to say hi and send over pictures of the house and things like that.

I only call if I need to ask something. or just want to say hello .. which is not that often.

I see my in-laws once a week. Usually, every Tues Dh and I eat over there. Dh talks to his mom and dad on a fairly day-to-day basis.

I have two MIL's (one is DH actual mom the other is his step mom that he's really close to). I talk to DH step mom constantly, she's awesome. We email each other constantly throughout the week and I talk to her on weekends. DH mom on the other hand I never call or email. DH does all the talking with her, I ask questions through him

answer to 'talking to in-laws?' is I CAN'T, really

they don't speak english well.... no phone calls. we only have broken conversations in person at family gettogethers....

We talk a good amount. They live around the block from us so we see them all the time. Thankfully, we get along great. His parents are so sweet. I consider myself very lucky, especially listening to some people's horror stories about their in-laws.

I see my MIL once a week and usually talk to her on the phone on a seperate night once a week also. DH on the other hand talks to her about 5-6 times a week.
