Do you call your mil on the phone? We are having a debate at work - My inlaws talk to my dh many times during the week - they live overseas so I don't really ever talk to them. I get along great with them but just don't call. People at work thought I should call to say hi every once in a while since we only see them once or twice a year
I get along great with my mil and fil, but we don't talk too much. We email back and forth every so often, talk on the phone basically just for birthdays. They live about an hour and a half away, and we go visit them once every couple of months & stay for a few days.
I voted special occasions. I wouldn't know what to talk about.
We don't talk to DHs parents so it makes it easy. When we were talking, during the planning process, MIL would call me just about everyday. But when it comes to my family, we talk to them just about everyday and even go over there 2-3 times a week. My Dad jokes that he sees me more now than when I lived at home.
We don't call, MIL calls. Sometimes we try to avoid her, especially when she call us at work. That woman never stop talking, over and over and over. As soon as we hang up, we count up 10 and the phone will ring again for her follow up call. Despite of that, we love her very much!!
Other - never.
They live in Texas and DH is not particularly close to them so I put down monthly but sometimes it can be longer, sometimes less.
I don't call her. I think I called her twice during the whole wedding planning...>DH called her after I made him....DH calls my parents though on his own....especially my dad
