Thank you card wording..how does this sound?
What did you guys generally put in your thank yous? Is this a good template to start with?Dear Bob and Jenn,
Thank you so much for sharing in our special day and for your thoughtful/generous/very generous gift. We really appreciate it!
Love,
Marianne and Ed
And for someone who sent a gift and didn't go to the wedding:
Dear Bob and Jenn,
Thank you so much for your warm wedding wishes and for your thoughtful/generous/very generous wedding gift. We are sorry you couldn't make the wedding. It was beautiful and just as planned.
Love,
Marianne and Ed
I am confused about what to say to someone who sent a gift and didn't come. I just basically found the wording for that on a website. Let me know how it sounds! TIA!

Re: Thank you card wording..how does this sound?
I would leave off the last sentence of the thank you for someone who sent a gift but did not attend.

Re: Thank you card wording..how does this sound?
I think the wording sounds nice. I did add something personal either about the gift or the person to each of them but I don't know if that's necessary. I made them longer for the people I knew better but wanted to really acknowledge the folks who came and their gift in particular.

Re: Thank you card wording..how does this sound?
OK thanks. I agree about the last sentence for those you didn't come. I got the wording off a website for thank you etiquette..I wasn't crazy about it but I thought it was just me being picky. Thanks again!

I agree. On most of mine, I wrote 'We are so sorry you couldn't make it. You were missed.'
