The happiest day of your life....other than wedding day

Tell me the happiest day of your life, OTHER THAN YOUR WEDDING DAY OR THE DAY YOU GOT ENGAGED.

Mine was 18 years ago.
When I got the acceptance letter into my first choice college. I never in my life wanted anything as badly as this......and it was a huge stretch.

Even now, when I replay that moment in my head when I first opened the letter, and was shaking so hard, and it was a very thin letter....and I was so afraid to open it.....and saw the first word of CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!! .....when I think of that moment today...I feel those feelings all over again.
It truly was the happiest moment of my life.

Hmmm...this might be cheating but I'd say the day I first met DH...when he came off the plane and we met in person for the first time. What an amazing day!

The other might be when DH finally moved back up north.

non-DH related Probably when I got the call that I got my teaching job! Or maybe when my nieces/nephew were born. oh who knows?

The day my neice was born.

We met online in 2001...on backstagejbj.com - the Bon Jovi fan club website! I wrote a post called 'Is Paul O'Neill a Bon Jovi fan?' cuz I was the Yankee playoff games and noticed they'd play their songs when he was up to bat. DH saw it, clicked on my profile, emailed me wanting to chat about the games. We talked baseball for a couple months, then it got personal (He lived in GA at the time)...and then it moved to the phone. Five months later, he wanted to visit NY/NJ to see his friends, some baseball games so I picked him up at the airport! It was such an AMAZING day and weekend...I'm so glad we have those memories!!! We were just a bunch of giddy kids- all those months of getting closer and the anticipation of being together in person was just unbelievable...and then finally being together, it was just unreal. Too awesome for words.

So crazy huh? I was in NY, he was in GA and we just kinda found each other...we weren't even looking! Just cuz we had the same interests...and he just happened to be originally from NJ so it was perfect! Who knew? He always used to say I coulda been some 40 year old divorcee with kids and he coulda been some pimple faced teenager.... Crazy how things work out!

This is a toughie...

But I'd have to say when DH came home from his 2nd tour in Iraq. He's a Marine Reservist who did two tours in Iraq. The second time he left (2006) was WAY harder than the first. Even though he called home all the time, he was gone longer and fighting over there was worse and more people were getting killed than ever. We weren't sure when he was coming home because they kept postponing it and one morning we get a call that he was definitely coming home that day. When they ushered us into their gym, and he came out it was one of the best moments ever!

oh WOW I can only imagine how incredible that had to feel! Anytime I see footage of soldiers coming home and seeing their wives, kids for the first time I bawl like a baby. So amazing!!!

Meeeeee too!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm going to say the day DH came home from West Point. Our freshman year of college, DH went to WP and that summer he had training. It was the first time we had ever been seperated and he wasnt allowed to have vistors, use the phone, or talk online. Onyl letters were exchanged, but the Post Office was under construction so I never got any from him He was miserible there and wanted to leave and they wouldnt let him at first (and his parents tried to talk him into staying ). It was the worst 2 months ever. He finally decided to drop out and I went to pick him up in the middle of August. I was SO happy to finally see him and be able to talk to him again -- it was amazing to be able to be there for each other. And it worked out for the best....he ended up going to Yale and joining ROTC and ended up in the Army anyway dispite leaving the Point.
