Tell me the happiest day of your life, OTHER THAN YOUR WEDDING DAY OR THE DAY YOU GOT ENGAGED.
Mine was 18 years ago. When I got the acceptance letter into my first choice college. I never in my life wanted anything as badly as this......and it was a huge stretch.
Even now, when I replay that moment in my head when I first opened the letter, and was shaking so hard, and it was a very thin letter....and I was so afraid to open it.....and saw the first word of CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!! .....when I think of that moment today...I feel those feelings all over again. It truly was the happiest moment of my life.

i think when i graduate from my masters in december!!! ive been looking forward to this day for a VERY long time

the day I left for Italy & lived there for 4 months. Such an incredible experience!

But I'd have to say when DH came home from his 2nd tour in Iraq. He's a Marine Reservist who did two tours in Iraq. The second time he left (2006) was WAY harder than the first. Even though he called home all the time, he was gone longer and fighting over there was worse and more people were getting killed than ever. We weren't sure when he was coming home because they kept postponing it and one morning we get a call that he was definitely coming home that day. When they ushered us into their gym, and he came out it was one of the best moments ever!
oh WOW I can only imagine how incredible that had to feel! Anytime I see footage of soldiers coming home and seeing their wives, kids for the first time I bawl like a baby. So amazing!!!

I STILL cry when I watch that on tv because I know what it's like!

ok.... can't make up my mind... but all career related... it's either:
1) the day I was accepted to grad school 2) the day I passed the qualifier exam and advanced to candidacy (HARD HARD exam, with 25% failure rate-meaning 25% of class was kicked out!) 3) the day I had a manuscript accepted to PNAS 4) the day I was awarded my grant ( 5 years of salary + supply money).
I think #4 may be the winner, since the funding rate is only 8% these days, so I had a 92% chance of having my career end at that moment....

I've had some great moments, thank god. happiest day was probably when i graduated from college...the first in my immigrant family to do so.

The day my nephew was born! i worked at the hospital he was born in and my sister delivered around 2am so i wasn't able to hang out all night and had to leave before he was born. When i got to work at 6:30am the next morning the nurses let me sneak into the nursery and hold my nephew (my sister was still asleep!) when i first laid eyes on him i cryed hysterical he was so cute and looked exactly like my sister!! i never experienced anything like it!!!

October 7, 2005...when i earned my Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do...i worked my butt off training for the test which consisted of 2 parts...the first was running 4.5 miles with 20lbs on your back, push ups, sit ups, and a written test....2nd part another day was everything you learned since white belt, sparring & alot of board breaking...i also got the best score out of my group. This was me afterwards...sooo glad it was over...was bruised for weeks!
