Things that bothered you AFTER the day of?

spin off to the post on 2011 board...

most of us were probably on cloud nine the day of and noticed some things but let it go for the sake of the big day.

But did you think about them after you were married and did they bother you more since you weren't caught up in the moment anymore?

There were a bunch of things that bothered me a little the day of and then bothered me more once I was married.

-my curls fell out before the ceremony. I was bothered by it because I've been curling my own hair for years and I know how to make it last and my hair person didn't. The day of I was like okay, whatever, it still looks good. But now it's something that irritates me.

- my bouqets were more pinkish purple rather than the lavender I asked for (and gave a ribbon to follow)...they were still pretty but not the color i went for. The pics kind of bother me

-people were served late. this really bothers me STILL when I think about it. especially since the excuse they gave S Ucks

- one particular no show/no gifter


now i'm realizing that this list can get kinda long so i'll stop now

My bo-k wasn't exactly as I wanted it. Had some green things in there that I realized I gave a picture of but said 'without those things' - but didn't really emphasize that.

DJ missed a lot of songs on our must play list. But he kept everyone dancing all night and we got so so so many compliments on him.

And the big thing that still irks me to this day...my dress. Although the dress I wore was absolutely beautiful it was a dress I settled for. Big issue with my original dress that I ordered and had to change 7 weeks before the wedding. Watching Say Yes to the Dress makes me wanna cry! I told DH that we'll have to do a vow renewal and I will get the dress of my dreams!

DJ missed a lot of songs on our must play list. But he kept everyone dancing all night and we got so so so many compliments on him.

omg, similar to the first two - I specified that i hated baby's breath and not to put them anywhere or 'greenery' and i got some of both

DH wasn't happy with our dj either...he worked hard on his list of must play songs

and i can't believe about your dress I'm sure your DH thought you looked incredible

I almost don't want to get started either! Here's a couple though:

-Uninvited children from FIL's side.
We made a point to only have children there that were closest to us, kids we KNEW. These people took it upon themselves to bring like 3-4 extra kids. We had NO idea who they even were.

-When I got my proofs back, I noticed that DH's side had a LOT more family photos, like big groups. Unfortunately, I don't have those pics with my side. I'm not going to blame my photog, but I was saddened by this.

ETA: I asked my MC/DJ to play 'time of your life' by Green Day as the last song. They played 'now I've had the time of my life' from dirty dancing. BLEHH

oh i def have a bunch of things ...

-- i hated my photographers (i loved them up until i got my proofs ... when i saw the pics they took, they looked sooo un-professional). I still get really angry about this sometimes.

-- learning that i paid more than i should've on certain things / vendors (eg: my dress & alterations - i wish i went to David's Bridal instead)

-- that the RH packed my cake at the bottom of a box where it got squished and ruined (we threw it away)

- Where the tables were placed.... the floor plan we were given and the way the room was set up was very misleading. I had people sitting in corners who should NOT have been there.

- BP photos, kinda boring - wish I would have said something that day

- Chair missing from my family table - it was handled super quickly and they apologized but it bugged me the day after b/c that a pretty important table

- Why didn't i hit up the touch of viennesse (sp?)?!?!?!?!?! sooo effing stupid LOL

Honestly - not about that day... everthing went as planned and if there was any hitches - I didn't know about it.

I will say that one of the stays in the corset of my dress created a whole in my side by the evenings end..


Three days after DH's brother was flipping out over where he sat / who he sat with... that was the only thing that Tainted our day.. Idiot.

OHHH i totally forgot the DJ!!!!!!!!!!!!!

- Tried to blame ME for not being specific enough about a photo that was to be added to the montage. Long story short, he made up for it, but it really pi$$ed me off that he was trying to say it was my fault

- DH's sets of grandparents aren't alive... my grandfather did the blessing at the RH... why was he introduced like 5 times as the grooms grandfather. I made it PERFECTLY clear that day and weeks leading up it was MY grandpa... AWKWARD and sad moment

- Music was good but I wanted more variety. I know i said I wanted a club atmosphere but that didnt mean all club music... guess i am at fault for that

- Some of the centerpieces, the roses didn't fully bloom which ruined the effect of the idea, but whatever.

- Hubby was annoyed that some of our must plays didn't make it in

- Some of the pictures people took of the wedding annoyed me because their flash ****** which made things look ugly LOL

- Our stupid RH. We found out there were 2 other weddings happening, we were being told to leave the outdoor area when taking our family shots.

- THE CAKE. Don't even get me started on that one

- My friend that came for 20 minutes and then left

- 3 other no show's

I let go of these things shortly after, not much that can be done, and I didn't let them bother me day of.

The only thing that I remember being really annoyed about was one particular non-gifter. I was her bridesmaid when I was 19. I was just kicked out of my parent's house, was in school and working full time. I still managed to buy her a decent shower gift, buy my BM dress (thank you RK Bridal and your no frills program!) and give her a generous ($300!) wedding gift for the wedding which she didn't pay for and she got divorced a year later. She couldn't even be bothered to give us a card and she brought her flavor of the month boyfriend, but that I didn't mind- I actually liked him!

ETA: And I didn't get to eat my ice cream cannoli.

Ya know, me, too! I guess that's because MIL spoke up and asked for it though, where my side of the family was just partying it up.

I was sick for the first hour and a half of our reception. I found out later that they NEVER opened the bar until we made our entrance!!!

The hotel annoyed the heck out of me and never delivered the vase of flowers that the florist dropped off in the morning that DH wanted to surprise me with!

oh I had a few things!!!!


-my bouquet was supposed to be cascading and much fuller than the bouquet I received. It was a basic round bouquet and I was taken aback at first. And speaking of flowers, I did not get the throw away bouquet that was listed in my contract, so we ended up having to use one of the BMs bouquet as the giveaway for the anniversary dance. I also was supposed to have petals along the edge of the aisle and on the place card table, but again we never received them

-when getting out of the limo, my dress caught on the rim of the tire, and there was a huge streak in it.

-our officiant said our last name wrong when pronouncing us husband and wife. Didn't really bother us, it was more funny than anything, but I'm worried about it being in the video

-our cake was completely banged up on one side. It was all dented and looks like it was missing a chunk of the corner. DH noticed this and threw a fit, but once I put a flower in that spot it was covered up.

-and the BIGGEST thing was the fact that our dias table was on a riser covered in carpet that matched the carpet on the floor. Just when we finished our first dance, my grandfather came over to take a picture, and trip on the corner of the table and fell on the floor and was knocked out. 2 ambulances came, 6 cop cars, and he had to be rushed to the hospital. All within 15 minutes of the reception starting. When trying to find the owners, they were conveniently 'out of the office' and the only person I could talk to was my matre d who took the brunt of the screaming from everyone. When my parent's called to speak to the owners the next day, they never called them back. My grandfather filed a suit against them now. Hopefully he'll be reimbursed something for missing his only grand daughter's wedding.

I'm pi$$ed i didn't say anything to my photogs! we got group family pics but not one of just me and my parents and brother or DH and his parents and brother. it was just large whole family pics...

i thought about it and one thing or another would distract me

PEOPLE ARE SOOOO ANNOYING!!!! I really didn't think people would be such children since we had a european style reception so you only sat for dinner for an hour and a half.

well, apparently people were asking to sit at that table and this table and they were doing switches before dinner started.

what is the BIG EFFIN DEAL!!! you just saw these people at cocktail hour and you'll see them again in an hour

there were a few but here are my top things that bothered me:

1. it rained so we barely took any outdoor pictures. i now wish we took pictures in the rain with umbrellas. i wish i was more specific as to what pics to take inside b/c now i feel a lot of our pics are indoors in one area

2. the limos for the BP was all f*cked up and at first i was ok with it but now that i'm done settling it, i think i'm more angry than before. i now wish i did somethng about it the day of and called the company directly rather than later since it was too late at that point - post to come out soon about this issue

i forgot to add non-gifters. luckily it was only a couple but that still annoyed me.
