Original post by MikeandJess

what can I make with it for dinner? I don't want to do the same old thing, which is broccoli, sausage, pasta, garlic & olive oil. Give me something innovative

well I am sorry Jess I was going to say Sausage and peppers because I LOVE that but I see your DH doesn't...so I have no other suggestions but just wondering

when you make the sausage with the pasta do you just put it on the pan (the sausage) in the olive oil and then put the cloves of garlic and broccli in the pan (kinda sauteeing it) and then dump that over hte pasta?? sorry this osunds good and I could def make that tonight after class sounds easy!!! tia

yup, I saute some cloves of garlic first. Probably about 2-3 for a pound of pasta. Then I thaw the broccoli in the microwave (I buy the chopped broccoli bricks), drain that and add that to the pan with the garlic. I cook the sausage in a different pan and when it's fully cooked I slice it up and add it to the pan with the broccoli and garlic. Then I boil some pasta, drain it, add some salt and pepper and about a 1/2 c of EVOO and toss it with the broccoli/garlic/sausage mixture. It's also yummy with spinach

DH doesn't eat peppers. He has the eating habits of a picky 3 year old. It's so difficult. Does anyone have a paella recipe? I've always wanted to try it but I'm a little intimidated because it looks difficult.

check foodnetwork for a paella recipe, they should have plenty

omg it is SO not difficult at all!!!! I use Rachel Ray's recipe and it is so yummy!! i usually just use Shrimp, Chicken & Sausage since dh is not a huge seafood fan - but definetly give it a try..u literally just throw everything in the pot!

ive gotta make paella one day, dh and i both love paella. DO you use chorizo or regular type sausage? i mean you can do either i guess doesnt matter lol but curious

i actually love chorizo and need to make it with that - but the last two times i made it i just used sweet sausage. i was grabbing things quick from stop & shop & they don't have any! lol

yeah i LOVE chorizo but dont always find it.

Hmmm thanks for the thread Jess, i know what to make for dinner now lol. When we were in Monaco we had this amazing pasta with Penne, shrimp and chorizo so im gonna make that. Now i dont know what sauce they made it with but it was like a white wine sauce so i'll do that, probably the same type of sauce i make with shrimp usually, with garlic, onions, butter and a few other stuff. SO in the mood for this, cant wait to make it.

hmmm tilapia franchaise, never tried it with that. I do chicken and have done shrimp franchaise in the past. I love tilapia so that sounds like a great idea.

I'm making sausage tonight. Tonight I'm going to make my sausage bake....I put sausage, cut up red peppers, a couple of onions sliced medium and quartered potatoes in the oven at about 400 for about an hour...depending on the thickness of the sausage. It tastes really yummy when you mix in some tomato sauce (plain with salt and pepper only) over it for the last half hour or so.....served over rice...Yummy!
