TOP CHEF

who watched it last night? DH and I actually got excited when 2 of the locations they had to go to were astoria and LIC lol. We were like this is the best top chef ever lol. And it looks like their apartment is in brooklyn, is that the Oro building? i think it might be but not sure.

Who else watched it? Stefan seems to be real good but real cocky

OMG thats so funny, I used to always get that magazine just to see people i know in it. Looking to see who was at what club, or cafe or restaurant in astoria, although some city locations too. Its funny sometimes the people I did see. The funniest part is you know how towards the back they have pics from phenomenon i think or another strip club, well they had 1 pic with all the strippers and there were 2 strippers i knew . One i couldn't stand, never talked to her but she grew up right by me and its one of those situations where you know eachother but don't talk. The other i was VERY surprised by. She always dressed down, never sexy. Always had these big combat boots on, big jackets and just covered up and then I see that and was shocked. She had the most amazing body too, and it was like WOW thats what you were covering up all this time lol

OMG thats funny, me too I absolutely love the photos section trying to see if I can find anyone I know and I usually do, dh gets amazed by how many people I know here and everytime we go to a restaurant, or just walking around I always know someone, but I keep reminding him that I worked for a long time at this immigration office on Steinway and so many people from neighborhood go there since most of people ins Astoria are foreigners

Yeah since I went to elementary, JHS and HS in astoria, i'll always see people i went to school with or became friends with bc another friend went to school with them. Sometimes I see people in the magazine i havent seen in forever and its like oh wow this is what they look like now. I never saw the in and out photographers BUT i always used to come out on the dirty stayout site

I LOVED Top Chef last night. It was awesome. DH actually had a screener for the episode so we got to watch it a few weeks ago but it was totally unedited and there were no 'product placements' ie 'here we are in the Kenmore kitchen....'

So far, I'm rooting for New Hyde Park guy and the guy who came from Roy's in Hawaii!

I like the fact that he's not 'trained' as a chef. He has great instincts! The guy never cooked Indian food and he made what looked like an amazing dish!!!

DH & I watched it! I love that show....this is DH's first season watching (he never had Bravo before) so we'll see if he likes it....I was actually happy that the people who went home were the ones to go b/c they didn't seem up to par with everyone else....but overall it seems good. Not sure about Stefan either, seems like kind of a jerk....I actually like it more later in the season, I feel like there are too many chefs right now

Yeah thats what I thought too. It was funny bc he said he never cooked indian food and had no idea about it and they were surprised bc they said it was perfect and very authentic. meanwhile the other guy was saying 'oh i know about indian food' and acting like he did a great job but meanwhile they didnt like his as much

I'm not digging the guy who won the first challenge (bald guy) Hawaiian guy kinda patted his back and was like 'the winner' and the bald chef gave him a dirty look. He seems to be very arrogant.
I can tell I will love to hate this guy!

I felt bad that in the quickfire challenge it was the 2 friends up against eachother. I felt bad for the first girl who went home. But honestly, I didnt understand why both of them made salad. Its a challenge so step it up and the 2 who made salad were in the bottom
