TOP CHEF

Original post by Espo22

who watched it last night? DH and I actually got excited when 2 of the locations they had to go to were astoria and LIC lol. We were like this is the best top chef ever lol. And it looks like their apartment is in brooklyn, is that the Oro building? i think it might be but not sure.

Who else watched it? Stefan seems to be real good but real cocky

I like the fact that he's not 'trained' as a chef. He has great instincts! The guy never cooked Indian food and he made what looked like an amazing dish!!!

Yeah thats what I thought too. It was funny bc he said he never cooked indian food and had no idea about it and they were surprised bc they said it was perfect and very authentic. meanwhile the other guy was saying 'oh i know about indian food' and acting like he did a great job but meanwhile they didnt like his as much

I'm not digging the guy who won the first challenge (bald guy) Hawaiian guy kinda patted his back and was like 'the winner' and the bald chef gave him a dirty look. He seems to be very arrogant.
I can tell I will love to hate this guy!

yeah, him and the italian guy were saying they are better bc they are european and acting arrogant in the house. I have a feeling though that he is going to be real good

I watched it! I love Top Chef!!

I don't have a favorite yet or anyone I totally can't stand, I think it's still too early. One of the guys I work with knows Fabio. He actually met him through a friend when he was on vacation in Italy a long time ago and they stayed in touch when he moved to Cali. He's been to his restaurant there too. He says he's a fun guy.

I watched the new season last night and the entire Chicago season earlier in the day too. I had never watched it before but I'm addicted to it now I had even set the DVR to record the entire season last night.

Ooooh I watched. I checked out the lineup the other day and was excited to see the kid from CIA (I'm an alum) but he was so irritating. It's like dude you aren't even done with school yet so stop acting like you know everything about cooking. There's a few others from CIA that I will probably root for. I like the girl who did the Italian plate- she seems on her game. So glad it's back!!!

Funny story from last night: I fell asleep during the commercial break after Stefan won the challenge so this afternoon I realized I didn't know who got kicked off. I asked DH and he was like oh yeah you were asleep as soon as there was a commercial break. Silly me.

I LOVED Top Chef last night. It was awesome. DH actually had a screener for the episode so we got to watch it a few weeks ago but it was totally unedited and there were no 'product placements' ie 'here we are in the Kenmore kitchen....'

So far, I'm rooting for New Hyde Park guy and the guy who came from Roy's in Hawaii!

I like the guy from Hawaii too, definitely rooting for him.

Oh I liked him a lot too. I love Roy's- I worked at one in California.

oh I think the girl who want the italian plate, her name is Leah. Yeah i have to say it definitely was an interesting take on italian food. Most would've made a traditional dish but she went with a modern italian dish and sounded good.

Yeh, it's pretty cool. One of the guys is from my town....it's always cool to see a familiar face.
