was anyone else terrified leaving it on for the first time in your house???
b/c that's all i can think about..... lol
I'm also terrified my turkey won't cook and it will just be disasterous.....anyone cook a turkey in there before?
Update:
for those that want to make a turkey....
I bought a 7lb turkey (with bones) placed onions and celery in cavity spread butter all over seasoned w/ lemon juice, salt & pepper (to taste)
Place in slow cooker & add about 1 1/2 cups of chicken broth
I cooked on high for 7 hours.
I haven't eaten it fully yet but I took a piece...so moist!! I might broil for 10 minutes to brown the outside but I don't know if I really need to......I will take broth and make the gravy though!!! Wooo Hooo!!

That's comforting
My friends mom cooks with her crock pot almost every night. Her house has yet to burn down. I am not sure about cooking the turkey since my crockpot is still in a box in the basement, but if it does not work out Monday will be a pizza night.

We use ours all the time, its great!! We LOVE it!
You just have to make sure to follow a recipe, because the reason food burns in a crockpot is because there is not enough liquid in it....

Dh cooks so many amazing things in his...they have crock pot cook books that he gets recipes from...my Mom has also started now because of DH...she loves it too...makes meat very tender and yummy!

i still get nervous leaving it on when i am not home ~ It will be fine and when you walk in your house your dinner will be done and sooo YUMMMYYYYY!!!!! I LOVE MY CROCKPOT! it is the BEST!

OMG!! I love crockpots! I get home at 8pm and it is so nice when a hot meal is waiting for you!
it is so hard to mess up a meal in a crockpot. everything comes out so TENDER!! and delicious.
i'll have to share my chicken tortilla soup recipe with you!

Never cooked turkey - my mom uses it all the time to cook pork and it comes out amazing!!!

So funny that we're both thinking about it allll day.

I love my crockpot. We just used it yesterday. I threw in a bottom round roast, (I seared it in a pan first before adding it to the crockpot) an Italian seasoning packet, 2 bags of frozen stew vegetables, and a cup of water, and 2 beef bullions. It was awesome!!!! We use it quite often.

I used mine yesterday for the first time - I made chili yesterday & it ******. Came out like baby food. Too smooth. But nothing burned & it didn't get too hot.
Today I am making ribs. I'll let you know what happens!
