can anyone recommend a good but affordable vet? We got a new puppy and made an appointment at a vet in Levittown for Saturday. I'm reading some not so good reviews....

Island Rescue in Bayshore. I've brought Ollie there for everything -- shots, to be neutered, his yearly check-ups. They are also fairly inexpensive.
We always used East Meadow Vet on Nebridge Rd. in EM. The doctors and staff there are really nice. I have only been to that vet so I don't know what the affordability is, but nothing was ever OUTRAGEOUS.

We use the Animal and Bird Clinic in Baldwin. They are really good -- even though we are out east now we still bring my dog all the way in there!

Massapequa Hospital for Animals on Sunrise ... Dr La Porta or Mignone. (I am sure the others are great, but those two I have seen and they are very good.)

We got to All Creatures in Long Beach and Buster loves it there. Not sure about the prices though DH usually takes him there.

they're great. fairly cheap (in comparison to other places) and great service. they've saved my cat a few times already (he's an accident waiting to happen) spayed and neutered a few of the family's other animals and have taken great care of all my family's dogs and cats (3 dogs, 3 cats combined).

This is probabally too far from you but we use a vet in eastport, love love love him. If you want his number fm me. We were talking our dogs to a vet in bayport, what a rip off. My brother and his girlfriend got a boxer puppy and he had some issues, and someone recommended this vet in eastport. Not only did he charge less, he has given them medicine for free, stitched the dog up three times after he tore out his stitches, for free. He loves animals not money.

Really? We've been going to them for a lonnnng time. Never had a problem.

massapequa pet vet has been great!!! i have had to bring my bunny in there so many times lately and a couple times i brought him in just for him to checkhow he is doing and hasnt even charged me. they seem very reasonable even with my 2 dogs. I use Dr. Cintron he is great, young (and nice looking hehe) he is also very kind and sympathetic. he listens to what I have to say about my pets and has been so supportive and helpful. My bunny was on close to death and he has really been amazing in telling me what to do to get him better.
