Viennesse Hour

Original post by FrescaBride

I'd like to get your opinions...FH and I decided we were not going to have one but now we are contemplating having it. I am wondering what's the consensus out there. We felt that it was an hour less to party and our place provide a Touch of Vienna(we paid extra for this as well) in which they bring cookies, pastries, and cakes to the guests' tables besides the wedding cake. We still not sure though....
We have been to many weddings and those that have it, it's great and it becomes the highlight of the night...and for others that had not had it, it's a great wedding as well.
Love to hear your opinions Please.....
Especially from those that are already married that had it or didn't have it. Are you glad you didn't have it or wished you did etc..
Thanks Everyone !!!

ETA>> I was also wondering if money was not an issue...would you have or you won't. I see a lot of posts where they will not have it because of the $$$$ and I'm trying to eliminate that option. Thanks.

Re: Viennesse Hour

I went to a wedding at The East Wind. The Viennesse Hour was amazing . It was over done(so much delicious food) but my husband loved it.

I had and I was glad that I did. I wouldn't go as far as saying that you 'need' one. I don't think that it makes a reception any better or worse, I really just feel it is a matter of preference. I bake a lot. So, elaborate deserts are something that I am in to. So I really wanted to have the Viennese Hour. But again it is just a matter of preference.

We had one and Im glad I did. Alot of people were dancing and worked up an appetite so it was all good.

I have seen them at weddings and they look wonderful. In our case, it would have been a lot more and we couldnt' afford it. We had a choice of desserts from a cart (a lot of them!) and the wedding cake and it was great.
