Wanna play? EDIT: Misheard Lyrics and/or Malapropism thread

1) My Norwegian boss just referred to me in an email as his executive *ss. He meant 'asst' but sometimes things get lost in translation...

2) My friend used to think Alanis was singing:
'That cross-eyed bear that you gave to me'
in 'You Oughtta Know' (She suffers from Chronic Lyricosis):

Who's got one to share???

LMAO I have one...remember that song 'Don't go chasing Waterfalls?'

Well my cousin along with half the frickin population in Puerto Rico SWORE UP AND DOWN (ARGUED WITH ME!!!!) that they were saying 'Don't go Jason afterall.'

SWORE UP AND DOWN! Like I seriously got into arguments that summer I spent over there. EVERYONE of teenage age swore they were askign a 'Jason' not to leave.

omg I will sing that now FOREVER...

Here's one of mine, a stevie knicks song, I don't even know the CORRECT way to sing it.. i used to sing...

Just like the one-winged dove... [sings a song sounds like she's singing...]

My sister heard me, BURST out laughing, and said...

'Col, think about it, think about a ONE WINGED DOVE. That makes NO SENSE!!!'

Re: Wanna play? Malapropism thread...

I don't know if this qualifies...My mom is cute but she screws up sayings ALL the time.

When my brother was a young teen (and therefore concerned about being the height of cool) he was playing Baseball and my mom and I were watching the game.

They were horsing around so my mother, wanting to help my dad (the couch) yells out 'Get back into the playpen boys and listen to your coach.'

She MEANT dugout...

Needless to say i had to drag her to the car before my brother could recover from his humiliating death and retaliate with a well placed foul baseball.

i think people have mentioned before the 'Axe' instead of'Ask.'

With all 'Intent and purpose' is usually said as 'for all intensive purposes.'

Re: Wanna play? EDIT: Misheard Lyrics and/or Malapropism thread

one I've always screwed up is:

Van Halen- Panama- I SWORE for the longest time they were singing- 'LET IT ROCK, LET IT ROL-OL-OL-OL-OLLLLLL' instead of PANAMA honestly I think MY version sounds better!!

one from a co-worker a few years ago that I STILL laugh about to this day:

co-worker: Hey Helen, what's that new Gwen Stefani song, ya know the cheerleading one?

me: oh that 'holla back' song???

co-worker: OHHHH is that what they're saying? holla back???? I thought it was 'I ain't no harlem black girlllllll, I ain't no harlem black girlllllll'

this of course was coming from a woman who's still stuck in the 80's, w/ her teased bangs sitting about a foot off of her head the look on her face when she figured out the real lyrics was priceless!!

from one of my friends :

I stood at his house last night
instead of stayed.

My feet would have hurt if I would have had to STAND all night

haha I have a cute one....

steve and I are talking about when we have kids... who will stay home, etc.

steve says... 'what about an au poivre?'

I'm like... 'yeah I think some peppery sauce will be great help in raising our kids!'

my poor cutie patootie meant au pair (although I was so proud that I taught him the correct way to say 'au poivre'
