Wanna play? EDIT: Misheard Lyrics and/or Malapropism thread

Original post by Colette

1) My Norwegian boss just referred to me in an email as his executive *ss. He meant 'asst' but sometimes things get lost in translation...

2) My friend used to think Alanis was singing:
'That cross-eyed bear that you gave to me'
in 'You Oughtta Know' (She suffers from Chronic Lyricosis):

Who's got one to share???

Steve also 'invents' words (I think they're portmanteaus, when you combine 2 words right?)
He says:
'I hate when you do that it gets me flustrated.'

I keep telling him babe, you either flustered, or frustrated, but you're not flustrated.

DH likes to invent words too ...

One that comes to mind is:

Complifused
(what you get when you combine complicated + confused)

and my favorite of ALLLLLLLL time ....

Outrance
(we were on the highway and were he couldn't think of the word 'exit' .... so he came up with this one, figures its the opposite of entrance)

YOur DH should come over next time we're having a family scrabble game Jess. my dad LOVES to make up words. My brother and I team up against him and my mom and half the time spent is on us challenging him and looking up words lol. Its ridiculous.

its a good thing that it's Friday and no one is here to hear me laughing so hard.

My DH, when he is trying to explain something:

'Tara, here, let me give you a Sample' instead of ' Tara, let me give you an example'
I don't have the heart to correct him.

My Dad:

'Wow, that team has a really good GOLDIE' instead of

'Wow, that team has a really good GOALIE'

People who say

Chewsday*
and
Shhhhhhedule*

(*You get a waiver if you're British, though)

My mom does that we call them Chooseday and Thursdy.

My Dh will make a statement and then vouch for himself example:

I went to the store, so I did.

mine says:

I am off to me bed, so i am or
he's a knacker, so he is!

[switches back to lyrics]

Erasure. They had a song called 'Ooh, sometimes' which I always morphed into
'Blue Sunshine'
Yet another one that MAKES NO SENSE!!!!!!
