so why not some more?! i'm curious.... do you ladies ever 'put your foot down' with DH? like do you ever say NO to some things?!

About 2 years ago he started in with wanting to buy a motorcycle. That I did not agree with for various reasons.

Now, 2 years later, he just bought one a month ago But I did agree - 2 years later.

Yes, i do kinda often and sometimes feel bad, but dh is a huge spender and if it wasnt for me he would be in debt up to his eyeballs

Now, 2 years later, he just bought one a month ago But I did agree - 2 years later.

DH used to ride a motocycle when we first started dating... i cannot tell you how many of my friends that were like and

honestly, i know they are REALLY dangerous, and its the OTHER idiots you had to be worried about... did i LOVE the fact that he rode a motorcycle? not all that much... did i ride it with him? HELLLLLLL YEAH!

he was ALWAYS a safe rider and NEVER did stupid sh*t while riding... the fact is, he had it WAY WAY before we were together so i couldnt really say anything to him then.... he sold it about 3 years ago

I only put my foot down when it comes to eating out. DH will be like 'lets just get salads' and I am like NO - we have food in the house! (I am trying to cut back on our eating out habits)

Other than that I dont really say no, and DH doesnt really say no. I mean when it comes to clothe shopping or getting my hair done its a whole other ball game and I have to deal with this

When DH and I were first dating he wanted a motorcycle - i said NO

he didn't listen

5 months later he got into an accident, totaled his bike and almost killed himself and he ended up in the hospital with broken ribs, cuts, scrapes and his lung almost collapsed.....

he promised me he would never ride a bike again and he sold what was left of his bike as soon as he was better.....

ets: and i used to ride with him after he got it b/c it was fun - after the accident DH was so glad i was not on the back of the bike b/c i most likely would have been killed.....if its ever brought up he gets really upset of the thought of me being on it and he'll get really emotional thinking about it....

i hate motorcycles! they are a lot of fun but SO dangerous!

its funny b/c i am the biggest 'i told you so' person EVER - like i am one of those people who LOVES when they get to say 'told you so!' but i never said it to him - he felt so horrible about it and i just couldn't bring myself to say it to him - but its funny b/c if it ever comes up i give him this look and he's like, i know, please don't say it

about 2 years ago we were coming home from the beach and there was an accident and the road was shutdown on the opposite side - it was a motorcycle accident - the boy was still in the road when we drove by - covered but we saw his foot sticking out - DH was so upset he almost started crying in the car - i guess just thinking that could have been him.....so im not too hard on him about it although sometimes id like to be hahaha

so yeah - when i said NO he didn't listen!!

When we were dating and even in the beginning of married life I was very passive. I dont really like arguments but there are certain things that I definitely put my foot down with.

Im really nervous about it. Hes really safe with it so far and I know he would never do anything stupid. My 3 brothers all have motorcycles and I was always nervous with them too.

I did get on it a few times and I actually am excited about this summer and going places on it So we will see how it goes

the thing that makes me nervous is that my DH didn't do anything stupid with his bike - he didn't do tricks on it or drive it like a maniac - he was just out riding with his best friend - he was behind his friend who was actually going faster than him - they were exiting the highway - they got off the ramp, onto the road, and then my DH hit the smallest little pot hole (which staten island is notorious for) and he lost control of his bike and that was it - his friend was waiting for him up ahead at the red light and when he never came behind him he went back and found him on the floor......so accidents can happen easily on them and you have no protection if you fall off - luckily he didn't get any bad road rash b/c when he lost control he tried to get over to the right side of the road kind of like the shoulder where there was all grass and stuff...

Yeah a lot of times I am like that. I'm a manager and I think that has the most to do with it. I'm used to being the bad guy and having to say no. I think he thinks it's sexy.
