Wed 3/3 QOTD

Morning ladies!!

Hopefully this question will get the same responses my other 3 questions did

Here goes-

One of the most fun parts of being married is learning our partner's 'quirks' aka strange habits, sayings, actions, etc..

SO........ what are some quirky things you've learned about your DH?

And what quirks has he learned about you??

Re: Wed 3/3 QOTD

Probably one of the funniest quirks my DH has is that HE WILL NOT CARRY FOOD TO GO when we leave a restaurant. It's hilarious. And very very weird. He also throws his clothes on the dresser as soon as he comes home from work....
like is it so hard to just put it in the hamper a foot away?

One of my quirks that DH has picked up on is how spacy I am...I have the WORST short term memory (but an amazingly genius long term memory)..like literally I'll tell him something, and an hour or 2 later I'll say the same thing.

dont know about my quirks.. i have quite an assortment.. lol

ok so the one dh has for me is prob kinda gross, but after i get out of the shower, i always take the glob of hair at the drain and throw it in the toilet...sometimes i forget to flush...lol later dh will use the bathroom and be like wow did you see the hair monster...dont worry i flushed him! LOL

and for him the only thing i can think of now, is since he has grown his hair out a bit, he spends forever trying to fix it in the mirror!! combs it, gels it, washes the gell out, combs it a different way, and then the end result is just the messy look cuz its curly and goes wherever it wants anyways!

DH leaves empty milk containers in the sink! Also, for some strange reason, he doesn't put his dishes in the dishwasher unless I remind a/k/a nag him to do it. Also, he will go days without opening his mail.

I, on the other hand, am absolutely perfect and there's no quirks that DH can possibly find!

His quirk ... you know I can't think of anything! He has so many but it just feels like they are built into who he is that I've known them forever!

My quirk ... I won't touch used napkins. I get so skeezed. I have to take a clean napkin to pick up a dirty one. This bugs DH because I'm wasting napkins, but it bugs me because if DH would just put his napkin on his plate after dinner we would never have this problem!

Haha, he has so many.

he drinks juice out of travel coffee mugs

he never puts a dish in the dishwasher

he hangs his towel over the shower (drives me nuts)

the funniest is what he does when he wants something.... like the first time I discovered he loved pre-packaged twice baked potatoes... he doesn't say I want them, or they are my favorite. Instead he tries to convince you he is getting them for you but is so insistent. With the potatoes we were with my mom in the grocery store, when he was down visiting from CT when we were dating... and my mom said do you want me to make twice baked potatoes. 'Oh no, the store ones are fine.' 'No, really Jay, its no problem for me to make them.' 'No, no, the store ones really are fine.' What we learned later is he preferred the store ones but was politely telling us. Since we've been married I learn he does that all the time. I have learned to read him but its so funny and strange.

I am not sure what he discovered about me....

Probably that when I get frustrated or mad I lose it and then minutes later I am fine and will never admit that I was crazy earlier. A trait I 100% inherited from my father.

I know what you mean... but it took me two years to train him to use a hamper, luckily I pressed that before we were married and I moved in. Only problem. He comes home from CT and unless I remember to tell him empty your duffle he doesn't. So I have all the laundry done and he goes to pack Sunday night and FILLS up the hamper. How he goes through that many clothes in 3 days I can't figure out. Monday morning I wanted to kill him.

You and I share this 'quirk' (I also get this from dear old dad)

One quirk DH has is that when he comes home from work he empties his pockets wherever he feels like it. So im always finding loose change in the bathroom, on the kitchen table, on the bookshelf in the livingroom, or on the dresser! Drives me crazy! But when I do find the change I claim it as my own!

I made a change can with Disney characters on it, that was our Disney fund (now its probably our furniture fund) regardless the rule is if I find his change in a random place it goes in the jar and he doesn't get it back. He can do the same for me but I rarely lose change.

DH has quite a few quirks. My favorite is the way he says Almonds. He calls them 'Al-monds', like he pronounces the 'L' where as I (and probably 95% of the world) say 'Ah-monds' without pronouncing the 'L'...this cracks me up every time. Another quirk, is that he HAS TO watch Two and a Half Men every single night while we eat dinner. He DVRs every repeat episode played everyday...I swear I've seen every episode at least 3 times over by now. And then his final quirk is that we can go to a restaurant for the longest time and love it, but if they mess up a meal or he doesn't like something from there just once, he is done and will never go there again. It drives me crazy. Oh, and he also will not go near a mushroom. If there is a mushroom on his plate, he won't just pick it off, he will return the entire plate and ask for them to make it right...since he obviously asked for NO MUSHROOMS!

Hmm...now I probably have a lot more quirks, but I think they are normal .

LOL - That is funny. Jess...you just reminded me of one of my quirks, I absolutely refuse to touch MY OWN hair and remove it from the drain. DH has to do it and when I see him do it, I go 'EWWW' and he's like, 'um, babe...you know that is your hair!?' I just do not like to touch my hair once it falls out my head.

Re: Wed 3/3 QOTD

I'll do one for each of us:

DH can't STAND when I don't clean dishes right away...like if I want a small snack, if I don't take the snack plate in immeadiately upon finishing, he takes it from me and washes it himself .

The quirk that I probably hear about the most from DH is that I fold towels/laundry/etc. in a very particular way. I'll re-fold things if I don't like the way it looks. Hey, I'm just trying to avoid wrinkles in clothing and making my house look presentable to guests!

Totally off-topic, but DH paid for my e-ring with change he had saved in various water bottles, jars, etc..... He took it all to the bank one day, cashed it in and used that money to buy my e-ring! I used to be happy if I had a couple of hundred dollars saved in change - he on the other hand deposited over $14,000!!

Re: Wed 3/3 QOTD

another great question!!!

DH has many quirks I call him 'Monk' all the time but the one that drives me the craziest is his Drive Thru phobia. He refuse to use ANY drive thru he swears they mess up orders all the time so I love when we go inside to order and they forget something HE ordered!!!!!!!

As for my quirk that drives him crazy it would have to be my debit and credit cards I never put them back in my wallet so I am forever looking for them.

I leave my jacket on sometimes for hours when i get home from work bc i thinks its comfy

Re: Wed 3/3 QOTD

Good question!

DH:

He uses about 12 cups in a day, between water glasses and coffee cups, and leaves them everywhere. Me, I use one water glass all day and one coffee cup. Then he wonders why the dishwasher is stuffed.

He also leaves paper towels EVERYWHERE. He will use it to wipe something up, then just leave it on the counter. Then do the same thing later. I have since learned his mother does the exact same thing. It is bizarre.

Me:

When I am thinking, I make my 'thinking face,' and stick out my tongue and put it on my upper lip. I never know I am doing it, and it cracks DH up.

I hate putting away my laundry into the drawers. I just don't have enough drawer space right now so am always cramming things, and I hate having to cram, so I kind of ignore it until I can't. I didn't used to be like this, I really think it's that I don't have enough space to put my things. I don't think it annoys him, but it's definitely a quirk.

woah, that's amazing! i hope he didn't spend ALL of that on your ring (what a ring that would be though!).

I love this question and reading everyone's responses.

DH quirk is he doesn't close drawers! I don't understand why....its so annoying.

My quirk is I wash everything before it goes into the refrigerator. (my mom does this too) I don't like that people touch the stuff at supermarkets and then put stuff back.

Re: Wed 3/3 QOTD

One of DH's quirks that pisses me the EFF off is that he never finishes his plate. His whole family does it, and I go in to fits. My biggest pet peeve is food waste, so I go ballistic when he'll leave like literally a mouthful left on his plate and claim that he's too 'stuffed' to finish. I was strictly brought up to finish your plate, so this really bothers me. Especially when it's one forkful. I swear he does it to spite me. He also never scrapes off said remnants, and will announce he's done, get up from the table, leaving his dishes there and chair out. I make him come back, scrape his plate, put the dishes in the sink, and push his chair in. So far the conditioning stint hasn't work, but I guess that's what 30 years of coddling does to you.

For me, DH thinks my biggest quirks are that I eat in order (finish my pasta first, then my meat, then my vegatable, and never shall they mix), that I shower at night (not a quirk at all, but try telling that to a morning shower-er), and that unless we have company, I rarely, if ever, shut the bathroom door.
