Hi, just trying to figure out what % of no-shows to expect for a wedding. I'm inviting about 110 guests for an Oct wedding at Westbury Manor and am supposed to guarantee 100 for the Garden room. I do have 10 children and probably about 10 vendors at the wedding. That would bump it up to 120 if 100 show.
Wonder if they would count taht towards the minimum?

Re: Wedding No-shows?
The average is about 20%. I would invite 125 to make sure you will have over 100 yes's.
ETA: 20% no ratio when getting back resonses - not talking about no-shows. We were lucky to have no no-shows.

Re: Wedding No-shows?
We had 6 no-shows that are still MIA. They were all on his side of the family. I also had one person cancel the night before.
It just makes you realize how rude and inconsiderate people can be.

Re: Wedding No-shows?
we had only 1 no show but we had one person who called us at the last minute that had been invited and declined (thier spouse was still coming) and then at the last minute flew back in time so they were able to come. It was a little difficult to redo a few place cards at the last minute though.

Re: Wedding No-shows?
I think what you are asking is the % of people who responded no. That is usually 20% of your total invited and I had almost exactly that number.
No-shows mean people who responded yes but did not show up on the day of the wedding. I had 1 no show, but her husband came and she was sick.
We also had two family members respond yes and cancelled that week so we still had to pay for them but there was no seating placements for them.

Re: Wedding No-shows?
We had 5 no shows. Of course, 4 of them let us know within 4 days of the event. AFTER I gave my final count to WM and BEFORE I met with WM to make a final payment. ( I still had to pay for them!) My advice...tell them 5-10 less than you expect on the phone. Make the final appointment to pay as close to the wedding as possible. That way you can pay for the actual # as close to the day as possible. The actual no shows (our 1) at the wedding you can't control.

Re: Wedding No-shows?
We had 10 no shows the actual day of the wedding. Some still have not called or contacted us to say what happened.
