Weekend where are you??!! NWQOTD 6/30/11
Hello ladies .... sorry for the delay but I'm having a not so good day at work! I need a NEW JOB!!!Today I've been thinking alot of what if .... what if I did this or hadn't done that ... how would my life be different?
Which 'what if' do you constantly find yourself thinking about?
My HUGE what if is 'what if my dad were still here?'
What would be different about me today? I don't know ... but it definitely does boggle my mind alot

Hope your day gets better
Weekend's almost here!My what if? Honestly, I don't have a big one, but sometimes I think what would have happened to me if my parents didn't decide to leave Europe and bring us here. I don't think I'd be as happy as I am now, but I always wonder...I'd probably have gotten married when I was 18 and had 5 kids by now lol

What if I majored in History instead of English?I'd have a better command of history (duh
) as well as a better understanding of political structure and government issues. I'd also be really good at referencing on a whim. A lot of time I find myself
and it bothers me.So many other what ifs...

Mine is usually 'what if DH and I didn't stay together when I went away to college?' Not that I regret anything, but I know things would have been WAY different.

I used to ask myself all the time the 'What if' questions...What if I didn't have my surgery? What if I didn't make that decision that ultimately had me leave my job and come to the one I currently have? What if I never went on that website (as I almost didn't!) and never met DH?
But honestly, since I like the place I'm at now.. and all the 'what if's got me here... I don't really think about them any more.

A big one for me is...what if my parents never moved from Hicksville to Floral Park? Would I still be the same person? Would I have ever met DH (a bunch of change of events lead me to him...and different people but ultimately it was my parents moving when I have 4). Would have done better in school?

Re: Weekend where are you??!! NWQOTD 6/30/11
When I interviewed at my job, I had an interview following this one at my mom's office. It's a completely different place to work- it's an advertising agency and I work at a law firm. My interview here ran longer than expected and I missed my interview at my mom's office. I always wonder what would've happened if I made it to that interview. I might be in a totally different place right now.ETA: Interesting question! I always love it when they are outside of the box like this!

Oh the 'what ifs'....One I have is: what if I had never had the courage to break up with my ex-boyfriend. We dated since HS, on and off for almost EIGHT years. He broke up with me first back in 2003 and during that time is when I met DH in college
But I was an idiot 19 year old and when the stupid ex-bf came back crying that he wanted to get back together, I took him back. Lots of drama ensued over the next 5 years, and I had only encountered DH once during all of that time! But one fateful weekend, I finally had enough with the nonsense that was our relationship, and I ended it.I imagine I would've been miserable and married to the b@stard, or even divorced. I'm so glad I found the courage to stand up for myself and leave and be happy.
The second is: what if DH never accepted my invite to meet up for drinks? A little while after I broke with my ex, I reached out to DH to say hi and see where he was in life, knowing he could very well not reply and that would be that.
But he did

Re: Weekend where are you??!! NWQOTD 6/30/11
very interesting question :)i think a big what if that i think about is 'what if i went to grad school/aggressively pursued writing as a career after college?'
I was studying to apply for grad school the summer after college when a job opportunity came up. It had to do with the World trade center and I really wanted some 'real life' experience. Thinking about it now though, I think i was too chicken to go after something that is notorious for paying pennies. I am also hugely afraid of failure! I told myself i'd work for a year and then maybe apply to school.
Well...it'll be my 5th year here this September. I really miss writing and doing something more creative
And I wonder all the time if I'd be in a more fulfilling point in my career had I gone after my passion. On the other hand, I met DH at work...so i guess everything happens for a reason...
