Were you married before you went through with your wedding?
It is more common that I thuoght so I was just wondering how many of you did this..
If so, why?
We were. My fil got sick in August and by Thanksgiving he was home on hospice. Since Xmas is such a big thing in dh's family (my fil looked like santa) We got married on Xmas eve at his house with just our immdiate families.
My fil passed away a month later.

we got married the day before in church and the next day at the RH..

we weren't but a friend of mine got married at city hall about 6 mos b/f her 'real' wedding

We didn't but we considered it. We wnated to ahve OUR day and our moment without drama attached but it was a hassle because we'd have ahd to do it in mega secret and then tell the minister and hope no one spileld the beans so we did not bother.
But my MOH did-she was married a full year and change by the time her 'real' wedding rolled around. She wanted to have her day har way and did so when the wedding palnning came along she was totally blase about it.

Yes and NO since you all know the story now The second time ofcourse I was already married.

I have friends who got married a few months before their wedding for health insurance purposes.
They were already engaged at the time.

Yes! Small church wedding 10/20/07 Scott, me, and both set of our parents then married again on 11/2/07 with extended family & friends. In doing so, I think it really helped with my anxiety of walking down the aisle (read panic attacks). Plus we had a really wonderful intimate dinner and night just the two of us on 10/20. Eventhough I think initially both set of parents were . In the end one set of parents got over it and the other well we didn't give a hoot since we paid for EVERYTHING .

we considered it at one point before we knew when DH would get deployed, but luckily everything turned out how we planned and we were able to have our day as we planned.

We didnt-tho we had thought about it for insurance reasons
