Original post by PeteysBride

I need new ones. I read anything from NY Times thought provoking best sellers to raunchy romances.

Please share your fave authors and their genre. Thanks!

I ? Mary Higgins Clark, and Sue Grafton

Clark has a new one out and I just adore reading her books.

Grafton has recurring characters to..Lindsay Millhorn and her books go in alphabetical order. A is for alibi B is for... C is for... and so on. She's up to T

I also enjoy Sidney Sheldon

They are more mystery and suspense. My mom LOVES the James Patterson Womens Murder club, but HATES HATES HATES the tv shows. She said an hour is not long enough and it feels rushed and they miss a lot of stuff

My favorite authors are:

Nicholas Sparks
Emily Giffin
Jane Green
Mitch Albom
James Patterson
Danielle Steele

Childrens Authors:

Eve Bunting
Eric Carle
Lois Lowry

Marie have you read the childrens books by//crap I forget his name..I did a project on his books. The one who wrote 'I Love you forever?'

My kids (2nd graders) LOVED the Lily books by Kevin Henkes. I did a whole unit on her for my final project. Even my little 'demons' loved Lilly and it was great to see them yelling at the other rug wigglers like 'I WANT TO EHAR TEH STORY!'

She's a trip so they can relate to her because sometimes she is VERY naughty but she always repents in the end.

I'll have to check out the lily books.....I love the book I'll Love you Forever (I know the author-but my brain is blank right now- I am zooted)!

Check out Eve Bunting- very emotional stories-true to life!!

Re: What are your favorite authors?

I just thought I'd share...My favorite authors are Stephen King and Dean Koontz. If you are in the mood for horror/mystery, I strongly recommend Stephen King. Dean Koontz tends to write more mystery type novels and his older books are better (IMO) than his newer books. A few of my favorites from King are the Dark Tower Series, The Talisman, Ths Shining and Desperation. He has a new one out right now Duma Key which I'm currently reading which is pretty good so far. My favorites of Koontz are Strangers, Moonlight, and The Bad Place. JMO

I have read every Dean Koontz book and STephen King-two of my favorite authors. I actually am getting DH into Dean Koontz. He really likes when 'good guys' win and evil loses so he's into those. His favorite was LIfe Expectency.

But he drives so I need to get him the books on tape from the library(CD) and they dont have many

Have you read 'INTENSITY?'

Thats like his best book I think. It picks up IMMEDIATELY and you just cant set it down.

I actually really liked Intensity. It was a very fast read because you couldn't put it down. I actually started to not like Dean Koontz because he started to have a formula in his books and I really am not a fan when good trumpts evil all the time because it becomes too convenient, if that makes sense. This is just my opinion of course. I like that most of Stephen King's novels have endings that make you feel uncomfortable at the end and good doesn't necessarily win out. But I still like a lot of Koontz's older stories because the journey to the end is always good in his books even if I feel the ending isn't always amazing. JMO
