What did you do with your gown?

Did you just dry clean it or have it preserved? Are you saving yours? It breaks my heart to just see it hanging here!!

I didnt do anything with it! Its all wrapped up in a storage container but I am nto sure what to do with it! I love it which is the only reason I cant part with it!
My MOH wants to use hers for a christening outfit but my mom did that with hers, so my child will wear my outfit (hope its a girl I wore a gown) so maybe if I have a girl we can do a communion dress. Otherwise I am sure it will be in the same box 20 years from now (which is truly the reason I never got it preserved!)

mine is hanging in my old bedroom at my parents house.....does 'preserved' mean that it cant be worn again??

I decided against preserving it. I just think it will take up too much room and I will never wear it again. Instead, I am having large swatches of the dress saved so that the material can one day be used for a baby's baptismal gown or something else.

I know that this is a little old but I'm thinking of having a mini dress made of it- I think that Kleinfelds does this and someone suggested using the train as the baptism gown...we'll see. I would like to have the bo-k pressed in mini form and framed. It's not exactly the same but gives the impression and you can put your pic in there too. I'm all about getting rid of clutter! Esp since we'll be living in tight quarters for a few years!

I haven't decided yet, but I am considering donating it. It would be nice if someone who can't afford a dress have the opportunity. But I need to get it cleaned first because I noticed there is a small stain on the back.

I send it to the cleaners and had it preserved. It's in its box in the attic hoping that some day if I have a daughter she'd like to wear it.

Ok Ok...I just saw 'ask Asa' on the news about a girl perserving her wedding gown. It is really eating me alive...I got married over a year ago and its still hanging on the inside of my closet door! I have been nervous about sending it out to be perserved but from what I have seen WedClean is the way to go. So I will be doing it soon, G-D I am such a procrastinator!
