DH & I are going to some benefit type party tonight at de Seversky... He was given tickets to it through his company since his they donated money to this organization... All we know is that its like some type of cooking/wine tasting thing... A couple of DH's co-workers are going along with his boss... WTH do I wear?!?!

I would say black dress with heels or boots is great...we went to a dinner like that last week for work at Villa Lombardi's and I wore this

I know now you're probably set on what to wear but Lord and Taylor had a ton of really cute dresses. There was a black boucle French connection short dress that would have been perfecto for what you're looking for. Good luck!

nope, actually not set... bc what i was going to wear was from almost 2 yrs ago and.. um yeah... my shape is just a bitttt different now and i look horrendoussss in the dress...

Yea, I think little black dress is most appropriate. It can always be dressed up or down. Check out Marshalls, Century 21, Off 5th, for dresses. Good luck and let us know what you find!

UPDATE:
I ended up deciding that I really shouldnt be spending $$ right now and SQUEEZED myself into gray dress pants (that actually used to be big on me when i was interning 1-2 yrs ago) with a dressy black top... I looked at myself in a mirror... shed a few tears bc I really should be fitting into my clothes, not buying bigger ones... and decided that it's now time to start working out and eating healthier... It was like a revelation for me...
As for the party, we drove up, looked at each other, and said wth are we doing here... we were def out of our element with the classiness of the occasion (good thing i wore work clothes)
De Seversky is GORGEOUS! The party turned out to be awesome actually... Free wine/alcohol/beer tastings... an array of chef's stations with finger foods... food was amazing! and omg... the mini red velvet cupcakes they had.... YUMMMMM
I'd go again in a heartbeat! We had a great time... and to think I wasnt thrilled about going...
