What do you call your in-laws?!

I continue to call them 'Mr' and 'Mrs' despite them encouraging me not to anymore....mr and mrs is just so damn easy....they've both asked me to come up with something else!

One thing is for sure, I won't be using Mom & Dad....

My BIL and SIL and I are in the 'out-law club'....

SIL calls MIL 'Ma' short for Mary not Mom...
BIL calls FIL 'Coach'.....

Help!

HAHA! Barb, I tried that and they called me out on it...

what did they say? ??

'You don't call me anything and you always wait until we're looking at you...come up with something and stop avoiding it'...so I call them Mr. and Mrs T and they hate it so I showed them!

Tell me about it!!!! That's my inlaw for you! But they things in 'I'm being super nice' way so you can't even go back at them! But they HATE that I won't call them by their first names and HATE it even more that my BIL and I won't call them mom and dad (BIL introduced me to DH so we converse about what we're going to call the ILs) so if they don't want me to just look at them and then speak, then they get the 1 thing they really hate 'Mr. and Mrs.' HAHA!

I have NEVER..in the 4.5 years that DH & I have been together...addressed them as anything.

ETA: I'm not comfortable calling anyone else, other than my parents, Dad and Mom. DH on the other hand calls my parents Dad and Mom.

I call them by their first names. MIL doesn't have any daughters and she told DH that she is DYING for one of her DIL's to call her 'mom'. Pshhhh! She has been awful to me for 10 years. She's crazy! Like i told DH, I only have 1 mom!

it looks bad but i call them mami and papi cuz thats what everyone calls them including DH's 7897846 cousins

eta i never felt comfortable calling them by their first names

not the cousins part but I actually call them Mami and Papi sometimes too! Since this is what DH and his siblings call them and what our kids will most likely call them - for them its an Argentinean thing

if not Mami or Papi I call them by their first names or nicknames (eg. MIL is Monica or Moni, FIL is Paul or Paulie)

Mom and Dad, and DH calls my parents Mom and Dad. I love being able to do this because for 10 years I was calling his parents Mr. & Mrs. It was a huge relief when his mom finally gave me the go ahead to change it up.

Since I work with MIL, I call her by her first name. Its out of habit I guess.

Mr. G and Mrs. G... its become a term of endearment i guess- never got the go ahead to call mom or dad not that i would feel all that comfortable anyway

it was by their first names before marriage.. but even then I tried to avoid callin them anything it seems so weird even though I have known them for 14 years.. I am tryin to call them mom and dad but hadnt really had that chance yet.. DH calls my parents Pop for my dad and MA for my mom .. so I think I should really start doin the same!!

I've only got a FIL and he is a big dude from Portugal and isn't the most formal or welcoming person. I do my best to just talk to him and not call him anything. If I absolutely have to I still say Mr.Cruz.

he said I could call him Moe (his nickname) but it's just to weird for me.. BIL's fiance feels the same way so I know it isn't only me and she's been with BIL for 16 years!

I stick with first names - I got in the habit of calling them by their first names while we were dating so it was just natural to stick with that.

Right after we got married, DH and I talked about whether we would call each other's parents 'mom & dad' but we decided it's easiest to just to use first names.

His mom I call 'mom'....his dad I don't call him anything as were not close so I guess the eye contact thing would be my answer for him. I'd probably call him by his last name or when talking about him say dh's father

His sitter I call 'sis' sometimes. She's sooooooooo great! I'm an only child, so I like it.

First names for mom in law, step mom in law and dad.. luckily they are pretty easy and it was that way from the beginning without too much awkwardness!

My hubby on the other hand pulls the not call them anything that was referred to above several times. and often jokes about calling my mom MOM.

To DH? That's a WHOLE other store...'That woman', 'That nasty woman', 'That annoying twit', 'That moron'...etc etc etc

His Mom I call Ma, Mami, Mom, or Suegra (and I have for yrs)
His Dad I call Dad or Suegro.

Spanish people make it really easy by having specific names for this. Suegra means MIL and Suegro means FIL. EASY! But I really like my MIL so I call her Mom w endearance. FIL I usually say 'Dad' w a tone.. I'm so bad!

He calls my parents Mom and Dad and my step-dad by his name. I made him start doing this after we got married. After 7yrs of him pulling the 'avoiding calling a name'.

Mom and Dad.... even though they are FAR from it....
They are super traditional....Usually I dont have to say it, but sometimes I do...When I talk to them, they know im talking to them lol
