Re: What do you do for yourself???

I am forcing myself to make the time. For a long time it was easy to just sit and watch TV with DH but now his schedule changed a bit and it's giving me more free time to do things for me.

I also found that getting together with friends that scrapbook (that's my hobby of choice right now) really keeps me focused and it's a wonderful way to spend some time with friends.

After dinner, I read, watch TV or come on LIW. I never had a time for myself problem.

Time to myself what's that

I got to drive our new car home alone and it was one of the first times to myself that I actually enjoyed

The other time involved getting my teeth pulled

The one thing that I do for myself is get a manicure/pedicure. It's something I enjoy, and it relaxes me.

Everything else seems to be on the back burner at the moment. I would love to have more free time to just straighten up the house, let alone for myself!

Re: What do you do for yourself/How do you take time for yourself???

I really dont get any time for myself. The most I get is when I fall asleep.
I try to at least once a week, take some time after dinner to do something crafty like make candles.

Re: What do you do for yourself/How do you take time for yourself???

I make sure no matter what, but every week I go to the hair salon. I also make sure to get manicures, eye brow waxing etc.

I read alot, I go shopping alone. I have always been somewhat of a loner, so nothing has really changed since getting married.

Re: What do you do for yourself/How do you take time for yourself???

my only real hobby besides school is my crafts. however, i try to limit the time to that so DH and I can spend time together at nights. DH is a computer freak (plays Everquest) and it annoys me to no end when he comes home from work, logs on and i don't see him the rest of the night

I get my nails done, go shopping, read, spend time with friends. I was going to pilates once a week, but just stopped and plan on starting up with something else.

Re: What do you do for yourself/How do you take time for yourself???

Karen - I was going to a studio in Huntington, but the instructor who I loved opened her own place on the Huntington/Bethpage border. Huntington was far to begin with for me but I loved going. The other instructors didnt compare to her. I only took mat though, so I cant speak for the machines.

Re: What do you do for yourself/How do you take time for yourself???

In the beginning I did nothing, then I got fed up - I started scrapbooking - its a great outlet. I am also taking a photography class, so I'm out one night a week and half a day on the weekend. The weekend time is alone time - I am taking pictures, and I stretch it out as looonnnngggg as possible.

I am so excited - DH is going away for the weekend and I have the whole place to myself@!

Re: What do you do for yourself/How do you take time for yourself???

At this very moment, 'time to myself' is when John Anthony is napping and I can clean up or nap with him, or come online or read a magazine or something...

But when Im in the swing of things, I definately try my best to make time for manicures/pedicures, shopping by myself or with mom or sis or friends... playgroups with other moms, we have a get together as the kids play.. Im finishing my Masters Degree, so that gives me a sense of accomplishment, and hopefully VERY soon, I'll start scrapbooking and getting things done (organizing photos!) while I enjoy the craft of it too...

Thats all I can think of right now...

We all deserve to be HAPPY and FULFILLED no matter how busy our lives are

Karen32-we should introduce our hubbies, John can play online forever! right now his new hobby is poker online

Re: What do you do for yourself/How do you take time for yourself???

I get my nails down once every two weeks or so while scott watches the baby. And I go to Curves 2-3 times per week with my best friend so we can chat while working out.

I LOVE to garden and cannot wait to take Molly outside while I play in the flowers this summer.

I don't require a ton of alone time though. I never did. I actually require friend time instead. I think working from home since May was too much alone time for me actually.
