What do you say in TY's for pple who gave $$?

Did you write 'thanks for your generous gift'? or did you mention specifically that they gave money?

I am writing generous gift- IMO it is tacky to specifically state money in any way

Yes. You can write what you did or plan on doing with it. For example, we are putting it toward the downpayment for our new home, home improvements, bedroom set. Growing up my mom always told me to mention that when I received gifts of $$.

I wrote thank you for the generous gift (regardless of the amount), and mentioned that we plan to set it aside for a future purchase such as a house. I thought people might want to have some idea of how we plan to use it.
