what do your parents do?

DAD: My father just retired from the NYC Carpenter's Union, Local 608 after almost 40 years.

MOM: Cleaned houses, superof a building we lived in, housewife.

They are both immigrants and worked SOOOO hard their whole lives just to get by with 4 kids. They never had it easy. I am so grateful to them.

My mom is a seamstress - she has been since she was 8 yrs old!!! (She alters clothes, and makes dresses) She has customer's that go to her house and she alters their clothes (she advertises in the hurch bulletin) She also used to sell clothes at a hair salon - but she retired from that last yr.

My father is a retired NYC Housing Authority plasterer supervisor.

mom- teacher
dad- salesman

Mom- Travel agent (and a damn good one too! )

Dad: retired engineer

My mom works in Merchandising (she sets up the jewelry and greeting card displays you see at stores- orders more stuff when needed, etc.)

My father owns an Electrical Contracting business (Local 25 )

Wait your dad owns Local 25??? Can you talk to me more about it? My dh is an electrican in private company... can you get him in?

Mom-pediatric office manager (retired hair dresser)
(step)Dad-owns sign/billboard company; dabling in commercial real estate.
My dad who passed away, worked for Grumman.

well, dad passed away in the 80's and mom is now retired (I'm OLD!)

Dad was a CPA turned VP of a company in farmingdale

Mom did clerical work for a mortgage bank....

Mom- Was a housewife my entire life, now she watches my cousins baby

Dad- Just retired on disability from Verizon

BOTH are the BEST parents in the world!! I couldn't ask for a better family!! Neither parent ever missed an open house, parent-teacher conference, softball game or dance rehearsal! THEY ROCK!!!

Mom- was a waitress forever then went back to school to become a massage therapist. Now she is semi retired

Dad- passed away 6 years ago but was a Maintenance Man for a corrugated cardboard company in Maspeth
