Re: what have you cut back on...

We used to drive out to Long Island separately on the weekends. I would visit my family and friends and he would visit his. We would meet up at my parents house later in the day or at a friend's house. Now, we go together everywhere, which I kind of like and it really is better for the environment too.

Nothing. We don't drive really.

Another advantage of living in the city.

Re: what have you cut back on...

I have cut back for my own personal reasons because we actually dont spend much on gas. I dont have a car and take the bus to work ($100/month) and DH's gas is paid for in full by his company!

However I have still decided to cut back in order to pay off debt and save some $$$! So now I am cutting back on mani/pedis, and only getting my hair done every 6 weeks instead of like once a month, no shopping for awhile, cook more, hmmm I feel like there is more but I cannot think of everything now.

Re: what have you cut back on...

i just thought of 2 more things:

i'm dying my hair at home for $4.00 with revlon colorsilk (not even the $10.00 box!!!!) instead of like 65 at the salon.

i'm driving with no a/c to save gas!!!

what happens when it goes even higher!!??

Eating out! But that prob has more to do with the fact that i puke everything up due to ALL day morning sickness! Why spend the money when its most likely going to end up in the toilet bowl of the restaurant that we just paid to eat at.

Re: what have you cut back on...

hmm we're trying to cut back on eating out to just 1 night a week, as opposed to two (not like we were going anywhere fancy, but it still helps to stay in)

we've also not been going to the movies or renting movies as much....trying to be more DVR savvy and just record stuff we want for free and watch them

and I'm *trying* to cut back on my Target addiction! So I just wont even allow myself to enter the store, because it's impossible to leave without buying anything

Ditto. We actually sold our car last year because we couldn't justify paying 400 dollars a month to park it

My car is better on gas then my husbands. He has a SUV and has to use Super When we go somewhere that is far, we usually make a point of taking my car
