What is the one thing that you regret about your wedding?
Original post by M&S Sept12006
It could be a vendor, guests, your dress, BM dresses, whatever.
I have to say that one thing I regret is shelling out a lot of $$ for a photographer...I wish I went a more inexpensive way...I could have shopped around and found a good photographer for a lot less $$, but I was so hooked on the good reviews that they got here and since they were so popular, I wanted to use them as well...I havent received my proofs yet but I doubt they'll be worth that amount of $$ that we paid for them.
ETA: After receiving my proofs I can say that they are absolutely amazing, however, that still doesn't change my mind about regretting shelling so much $$ on photography. Have I done a little more reserach, Im sure I would find a photographer that would do a wonderful job.

I'm the opposite - I would have gone with a completely different photo and just paid the extra money, so I got the shots I wanted and asked for!
I totally agree. I am very unhappy with my pics
I regret: -having it at the watermill -picking the church I did -picking with some of the girls in my bridal party. They pissed me off that day -my photographer -my florist

I regret TWO things:
1) My dress. My salon ordered the dress I loved a size too small.... they couldn't alter it properly... I ended up getting so frustrated that instead of having Phyllis alter it, I returned it and went the custom made route. But the dress was made in three weeks and just didn't hold up. My 'ladies' were hanging out for all to see....and so many pictures that would have been perfect aren't b/c I've got too much boobage going on.
2) Hiring a DOC - did not need one at all.

Two things:
1) I wish I had picked a different hall. We really rushed into booking and I regretted it almost immediately. I regretted it even more after have to deal with incompetence/things that went wrong.
2) I wish we hadn't taken soooo many pictures with different groups of people. We thought we wanted to get pictures with our college friends, some extended family, etc. We ended up having to do it during the reception and I wish I had that time on the dance floor (of course, my feet were basically bleeding at the end of the night so it's not like I didn't dance my pants off, but we missed two of our 'must play' songs as a result )

Just a few things:
1. My hall, biggest disappointment. They let me down in many ways, but luckily it's a beautiful spot and the food was great so no one noticed. 2. Allowed more time for pictures after the ceremony. We missed half of the CH because we were behind schedule. 3. Given the DJ a must play list. I didn't think I needed one, but apparently I did! 4. My dress was WAY too tight the entire night. I had a corset and thought it would loosen up, but it never did and my ribs were in pain the next day because of it. Also, I didn't like the way it looked tied, but I never looked on the day of so I only realized it was tied wrong when I got my proofs back.
Otherwise, it was a perfect day. I could dwell on all these things, but honeslty I am so happy it's over and married to my DH

The ONLY regret we have is not telling the DJ to announce the chocolate fountain!!! My mom didn't even know it was there until my aunt mentioned it after the wedding!
Honestly, I can't think of anything else I would have done differently.

I regret not kicking out one girl in my bridal party. I really should have just bee a biatch & done it, cause we haven't spoken since my wedding.
I also regret not letting DH tell off one of our guests....she really insulted our best man & upset him greatly.

I regret not taking one picture with my mom, aunt and grandma. It would've been nice to have three generations of women in one shot. I also regret not hiring a DOC. One of the things that went wrong may have been fixed by a DOC.

I regret not putting an earlier start time on the invitation. A lot of people missed the ceremony because there was a stupid street fair that day with a crazy detour

Biggest regret - not demoting my MOH to BM and making my SIL my MOH instead. And I should have kicked my friend out of my BP. The frustration those 2 people caused could have been avoided.
Other regret - doing my research before going gown shopping. Had I done that I would not have gone to that horrible salon in Brooklyn just because it was close to my parents.
The only other thing I can think of is some pictures I really wanted were missed. There were more posed shots than I wanted and some great shots that we never bothered to take advantage of.

I regret that the driver from my bakery was late and SPEEDING and ruined my cake. It was 'fixable' with flowers but it just didn't look right. At least it tasted good?!!!

Thanks! They were 1.5 hours late to my house. Driver had no idea where the church was so my uncle had to drive him there. I didn't give a tip to him and he actually went to the watermill and asked me for a tip and I tol my exactly why he didn't get it.

Re: What is the one thing that you regret about your wedding?
I regret pretty much nothing, my vendors where perfect. I couldn't believe more things didn't go wrong.
A regret beyond my control was the weather. While I can't complain that it hardly rained on a day that was suppose to be continuous showers, I still wish we had sunshine. I think everything in the pictures would of been so colorful instead of a white sky.
Another regret is I wish I would of wiped my face a little in some pictures. I was sweating at my house and I was a bit too shiny in some pictures.
